Indoor hot tub?
Does anyone here have their tub inside their home? I've always had mine outdoors, mostly on a covered patio. But I'm thinking about moving it inside. My only concern though is the humidity problem. And how to prevent the humidity from spreading throughout the house. I think I can partially block it off and trap it in the one area where the hot tub is located. But not completely. So I'm counting on running some big honkin' dehumidifiers next to the tub. Has anyone here tried that? And how well does that work?
I would like to know as well. I have thought about an inside tub. I could paint the area with a flex seal on the walls so the drywall doesn't get damaged. Being inside would be so great! But would be nice to hear from guys that have done it!
Ventilaton will be key, not just for humidity, but for chemicals too. An enclosed patio would be okay with ventilation, but I would not put inside the main house, especially if the place you plan on putting it is not on a slab. Water is heavy, and it is doubtful any raised floor in your house was designed to carry that concentrated of a load.
If being cold getting out is your concern, get a heater to blast warm air on you as you get out.

I haven't made any headway on this project since I posted 7 months ago. Mainly due to other projects trumping this one. But this one is still on the list.
Situation is a slab that was originally an open back porch with the home's roof and attic extending over it. The house is brick with 4 windows and a back door opening out to the porch. Built in the '50's before hot tubs were a thing but sturdy enough to hold one. Later, the porch was enclosed with floor to ceiling windows all around and 2 overhead ceiling vents added to extend the central H&A system out there. The original home's windows are still in place and remain open to the porch but can easily be shut if need be. The back door has been removed since it wasn't needed because the porch had essentially become part of the heated and cooled space of the house. And it became even more popular than the living room. I can replace the back door and block off the ceiling vents. But constantly having to open and close the door as traffic comes and goes would be a pain in the butt. And if I open all the floor to ceiling windows to the outside, it would almost turn the room back into an open back porch. I may not even need dehumidifiers.
But that's the conundrum. I'd prefer to have the tub inside as part of the living space instead of outdoors separated from everything else. Closing the original windows would be ok I guess but having to open and close the door all the time would just suck. And I haven't even considered all the noise those dehumidifiers would make. Or know for sure if they'd be able to keep up.
hmmm.... I dunno. Just thought I'd see how other people would deal with this situation.
