What size are yours, Jonk? I simply use the 40-mm rings from Bunnings and once they're on, they're on. Since they're a circular cross-section I wear a few for an art-deco/streamline-modern look. I think with the flexibility of rubber o-rings I was able to go down to around 37- or 38-mm ones, so not much tighter. I used to also wear multiple o-rings for a similar effect to multiple stainless rings.
I prefer the weight and feeling of the stainless rings but I have to be careful with my activities as they tend to fall off. I also have a few aluminum rings that are tighter and lighter. My daily wearable rings are made of colored plastic so that I can match the color of my shirts with my cockring.
I love the feel of my steel ring - the way it gently squeezes and tugs while I'm flaccid. It feels great to wear around all day, but I agree with others who say the steel rings can tend to slip off due to the weight. I also love wearing my leather ring with snaps. It is easier to wear all day without worrying that it will slip off.
Different materials for different purposes. I have a chrome polished 304 stainless steel triple ring that I use solely for sex activities. It's pretty big and heavy so it generally stays around the house.
When I have to wear clothing in public I have crotchless string thong underwear that holds a single chrome polished 304 stainless steel ring and prevents it from falling off when I walk around (an issue pointed out by others).
For other naked time I use a series of different sized nitrile butadiene rubber O-rings. I prefer the nitril over silicone as the silicone lube we use will attack and break down solid silicone. Nitril, while not as elastic as silicone, is still pretty flexible and is also resistant to oils and other liquids.
YMMV.
I do like the stainless steel heavier rings better but for everyday wear the lighter aluminum ones stay on better. Sometimes I also use the nitrile o rings with it to keep it from falling off. My balls have a tendency to retract and hence why I like wearing tighter rings. My fav is the brushed gold aluminum ring - its light weight and goes well with my darker skin tone.
When at the gym swimming laps I like to wear the heavy stainless/chrome because the suit hugs it well. A second ring goes around my balls so it pronounces it even more. I wear a Kiniki tan thru with no lining ( I cut them out) and the chrome can be seen visibly glinting in the light.
Silicone, as mentioned by others, stays on better for all day use. I have thick ones and smaller ones. The silicone ones don't do well with oil and start to crack easily. I like to use alot of oil especially at the beach or just nude at home.
The collection keeps growing.
