Outback destinations
No action on this group for a few years. We have lists of great beaches around this beautiful big country, but what about inland destinations, is there such a list?
We plan on doing a lap or half lap of Oz in a couple of years and I'd like to know places in the outback, water holes, camps etc. I know if you bush camp away from others it's easy, not so much around others. Or does everyone look to camp alone to have that freedom?

Howdy, I suggest you visit the Mutawintji national park, in NSW , about 2. 5 hour drive from Broken hill, there is a campsite with picnic areas, outback facilities building with shower and toilets, depending at which time of tge year you got, you ll get plenty of tourists in bus load or won't see anyone for days....I hiked naked the whole day and did not see a human npr heard any man made nouse...from the camp ground following a marked path initially then went on to explore bia goats/ kangaroo trails....harsh environment, except at camp don t expect to find water...shrubby area, plenty of goats and heaps of snakes, red bellies, eastern brown, coperheads, inland taipan...do noteave your backpack unattended, or you could find a surprised next time you reach out in it! Otherwise it is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! SERENE, plenty of birds singing, goats are everywhere, wild pigs occasionally near the creek bed...worth experiencing it. I recommend it to anyone who enjoy wild remote area...
