Naturist Clubs in the UK

It seems that there has been an upturn in people who class themselves as naturist/nudist since Lockdowns, yet most established (landed) naturist clubs are not seeing that reflected in their membership numbers (indeed quite a few are in decline).
What is it about your typical British Sun Club that puts people (particularly the younger generation) off from visiting - or if they do visit, what deters them from coming back or applying for membership? I have a few ideas of my own, but I'd be very interested in comments from folk to whom this applies directly - what stops you going to (or getting regularly involved with) a naturist club near you? What kind of things might attract you to joining in the future?

RE:Naturist Clubs in the UK

For a start it's the ratio of single men to couples or females. We joined a club this year after going to the open day. We've been nudists for years and knew what to expect but still men outnumbering by more than we thought. The club apologised a few times and explained it's never normally like that. I've spoken to others since who have said how off putting they find it being around so many single males and barely any women. We also once attended a swim and a ratio of at least 10 - 1 which actually put us off and left. We did give it another try and much better then next time.

Over the summer I heard of an incident at a club. Two younger females had joined and within weeks they'd suddenly stopped coming. One had been there on her own with a few single males . One of these men had started playing with himself in front of her. The club obviously banned him once someone else had reported it. If her or her friend have other nudist friends then it's likely to put them all off ever visiting that club now.

I do feel sorry for the genuine single men but sadly lots give them a bad name. We've nothing against being looked at but lost count how many men have basically been perving at my wife and very open about it.

I honestly don't know what the solution is to this one - which I am sure is a significant concern for many women. (And not just women - similar behaviours directed towards other men are not uncommon. Tho perhaps men are more resilient in these matters.)

Of course clubs will all have rules against that kind of behaviour, and should have at least one nominated Safeguarding Officer to whom any incidents should be reported; but realistically they can't police things 24/7 and rely heavily on the decency and vigilance of other members and visitors. Sadly, there are men in society in general (not all of them single) who seem to think that this kind of behaviour is acceptable - and this becomes all the more obvious in settings where nudity is de rigeur. If a club is affiliated to BN they have the facility to check potential members and visitors against the BN 'banned' list - but not sure how consistently this is done.
Statistically, it does seem there are significantly more men interested in naturism than women, so this is bound to be reflected in numbers attending clubs - and of course some of those men will be gay, so not likely to be making women uncomfortable. There are clubs which only allow mixed sex couples (or family groups) to join/visit - but that is a very discriminatory stance to take.
Would one solution be to have allocated single sex times for using facilities such as saunas, hot tubs, even the clubhouse? (I know of one club which is seriously looking at allocating specific 'women only' sessions). But that would be of little comfort to couples wishing to socialise together.
