Back on treadmill
Got on the treadmill again this a.m. Have to say it feels good after so much time off. Did 5 minute walk to warm up then ran a mile for 10 min then walked for 3 to cool down. About a mile and three quarters total distance 190 calories burned and got my heart crate to cardio more 152 according to my smart watch
Did another mile run on treadmill couple nights ago. Honestly never though I would like running on treadmill as much as I do. I did 5 min walk to warm up then ran a mile in just under 10 min then walked to cool down for quarter mile. Burned 200 calories and felt really good after when I stretched.
Everyone has different preferences and things that work for them with workouts. The thing that is important is to find what works for you and do it. I prefer to workout clothes free I find my body and the effect of the workout better that way for me so working out indoors running on treadmill or using stepper kettlebells or weights or riding bike is my preference when I cant get to the resort to workout outdoors or it is too cold for that.
The only piece of equipment I just cant get into is rowing machine. But I know others really enjoy that so to each his own. Maybe I will come around to it some day.
I'm not a big fan of treadmills and only use them in hotels fitness rooms. I do have a rowing machine in my sun room and use that except when it's too warm in the summer. Unless it's really cold outside (the room is unheated) I workout nude. It took some getting used to to overcome the boredom. I hooked up a stereo and listen to music as I workout. I'll use it two or three times a week in the fall, winter and spring. I always feel good after having used it.
I got my elliptical up and running yesterday, and very early this morning ran all the cables for the home gym, so both are ready to go. I bought the elliptical used off Craigslist for $120. It sold for $1200 when new several years ago. As much as I was tempted to buy a Life Fitness one for 10X the price, I am very happy I bought this one. The ergonomics feel similar to the LF, and if it becomes a clothes rack, at least it won't be a $1000 one.
