How effective is your profile?

I'm only new, here. So let me start by saying thanks for letting me in. Now, on to business, this house is a mess, divided against itself every possible way. In your defense though, it is to be expected whenthat many personalities, and philosophiescome together with a global reach, and it is human nature to segregate, it's just what we do.

"Ok new guy, you looking for trouble?" Not at all. I mention it because I have come across profiles that are not written properly. "Who the...Are you on drugs new guy?" No. But I see some people's responses, and think they sound like people I might enjoy knowing better, and Iclick their profile, and it reads like a do not enter warning, and all trespassers will be shot on sight. The same division I mentioned earlier is eroding what should be a friendly experience. Nudists take it all off, so they can come here and put walls up?

It's really an issue of marketing a product, you are effectively "selling" yourself. That said, who wants to buy negative advertising? "That's strike three, new guy..." Hear me out. Let's say one in a hundred profiles belong to people you want to associate with, and 99 are from people you prefer not to, and maybe half of those are so extreme that the delete button isn't strong enough to erase permanently. I get it.

Here's where the science comes in. The head and body will follow the eyes. If youwant to avoid stepping in dog poop, look at the space you want to plant your foot, not atthe K9 feces. The internal monologue for some people is:"Eww, gross, dog poop! Don't step in it, don't step in the poop, don't step in...Aw, I stepped in it!" There will always be some kind excrement to avoid, don't hate the animal, they're stillgoing to do what they do.

With the idea of shifting your focus to where you want to be, who is your target audience? Only you can answer that for yourself, but that is who you write your profile for. Set your "filter" to screen for the keepers. When you go grocery shopping do you sift through every item in the store, and then by process of elimination, remove the least desirable items to arrive at the ones for purchase? It would take a month to do that, chances are, you made some kind of list, and when you get there, head straight to the organic apples and look for the best ones to bag, and move on to the next item on your list.

Why do seemingly so many people use backward tactics with their social endeavors? Einstein said insanity was doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. Now, gopresent a profile that will increase the chances of generating the kind of traffic you really want. Good luck...

RE: How effective is your profile?

Thanks,I have observed some fickleness with the site, like you mentioned, and that action is needed because it logs you out in the middle of typing, and your information / response vaporizes, as do private messages lacking a subject (even though they are areply?), and what's the "aquantices" syntax all about? Makes one wonder ifthis site actively managed? I'll check out the link, thanks again.
