Pleasant surprise at the grocery store

It's summer here and it's humid and hot at the moment. It's not unusual to encounter locals shopping at the local grocery store that have not long hopped out of their pool and made their way to the grocery store ('shops' as we say here) . Seldom is there somebody in their swim suit but occasionally women will out on shorts and go with a bikini top. The most usual sign is wet hair, thongs (footwear you perhaps call flip flops) and damp clothing. This is so Aussie and Queensland!

But last week a entered an aisle and as I went along I noticed a woman ahead had the damp hair and was wearing a light dress with a very open back. From behind it was obvious she had no bra or bikini top. I thought good for her. But as I drew closer she had need to lunge forward over the handle of the trolley to her wayward child. At that point I noticed ahe also had no underpants or bikini bottom on either. She was pleasantly 'smooth' and aside from enjoying the fact somebody felt free enough to be so attired, I continued to think good for her. I didn't stare I just accepted her choice and continued on my way.

In telling my wife though, she retorted with a few comments that shocked me. But when I pushed back stating freedom of choice and the woman wasn't harming anybody my wife settled on it not being appropriate. I said I don't understand and my wife said she gets why it may be appropriate to swim in our own pool naked but it's not to go shopping with no underwear on. So I'm left a little confused....

I found out that Australians call flip flops thongs the last time we were there. My wife's brother lives near Katoomba. We took him and his family to a fairly nice restaurant. There was a sign in the lobby that said men in thongs were permitted in the bar area but not the main dining room. I was very confused until his son in law explained that it referred to footwear, not underwear or swimwear. Since he was wearing thongs (on his feet) we ate at a table in the bar area.

Reads like a story you would find on an erotica site not a nudist one.
