Haulover
Went yesterday for the first time.
Some impressions.
Haulover is much better than Gunnison for several reasons.
Larger.
Shorter walk.
Food and showers in clothing optional area.
Lower parking fee,
Some other observations.
While still predominantly male, the percentage female seemed higher.
When looking around the fence at the end of the clothing optional sections, the attendance on the other side seemed much lighter. Perhaps they should reduce the clothing required section from 2/3 of the beach to 1/3.
Seemed like more men arrived shirtless than at Gunnison.
A few undressed/dressed at the edge of the clothing optional area like I do.
A few appeared to arrive or leave covered in a towel and having no clothing with them.
Great beach. Lived near it for years and miss it. Outdoor showers are great being on the nude beach. As for the other side of the fence rarely did i see anyone ever there!
Another benefit is the tunnel from the parking lot to the beach - no traffic to cross! And full restrooms as you approach the beach.

It is a great beach for all the reasons above. I have left my car in a short sarong myself, comfortable to drive in and easy-off once I arrive. Feels a bit risqu to be wearing about an ounce of fabric and flip flops in public, but it works. Lots of people there. I think one of the reasons the buffer zone beyond the fence is that non-nudists dont want to be seen as too close to the nude zone. But it would be nice to have a longer stretch of beach to stroll nude.

One thing I forgot to mention is that there appeared to be a smaller number of beachgoers minimally covered at Haulover in comparison to Gunnison. Probably because there are more opportunities for women to be topless and both genders to wear thongs in FL than NJ.
