I am not sure how long this will last but.........

I went to BCB this past Wednesday afternoon (3/26). I barely found a parking spot at Little Mud. I walked towards the boat launch and then up the trail to the beach. As soon as I got to the beach and headed north, I noticed that almost everyone was nude. I don't recall getting anything from TCN (Treasure Coast Naturists)about this other than they approached the County about moving the nude section north temporarily. It was quite crowded just north of the Mud Creek entrance, so I walked south for about 50 yards and set up. I suspect it will just be a matter of time before the sheriffs put a stop to it, although when i walked down the beach, I saw 3 ATVs that I assumed were park rangers or sheriff's deputies. Maybe they are taking the approach of if no one complains, let it be. Hope so.
Having said that, I know that there are people that are not happy unless they are complaining about something and will go out of their way to look for things to complain about. I refer to those people as Probitch, Professional bitchers.
Lets see how long it lasts until the nudists are pushed south to the usual boundaries. I would think that since Blind Creek is St. Lucie county's most popular beach by far and since there are several textile beaches to the north that the county could accommodate us.

I for one appreciate the info. We had plans to go there for a weekend this last February, but missed out on the info about the construction until getting there. I did not like the thought of the extended walk for my wife to get to the nude beach so we never made the trip. We wound up going to Haulover instead, which was okay, just not BCB. I will be keeping an eye on this, we will be back next year

Just an update, I went yesterday (4/1) and little has changed since last Wednesday. The nudists are congregating just south of the little mud creek walkover, even though there are signs saying clothing required.

When I left I drove around the little mud creek parking lot and noticed that about 40% of the cars had out of state, Canada or Florida rental car license plates (expire in June) That showing the economic impact that beach has on tourism in the area may be affecting the lack of enforcement

After I left the parking lot, I drove down to the main (closed) entrance. It appears that nothing has been done since early February when I was last there. Shortly after I got home, I found out why.
This from Treasure Coast Naturists:

Update on the Parking Lot Construction

Apparently, something of archeological interest was discovered during the initial demolition phase of the parking area, causing construction to halt until an archeological survey and permit were obtained.

The following update was received yesterday from the Director of Parks and Recreation for Saint Lucie County:

"Per today's Blind Creek Construction Progress Meeting, the contractor is remobilizing this week and will resume construction next week. The contractor will be working closely with the archeological monitoring team to re-establish a new construction schedule. Unfortunately, they won't know for sure what the projects new estimated date of completion will be until the contractor and the monitoring team have worked together for a few weeks to establish the pace that it will take to work under these archeological monitoring requirements. Once we know more in a few weeks, I will pass the info along."

We will continue to update you as soon as we have more information.
In the meantime, beachgoers may continue to park at the Little Mud lot. No parking is permitted on Ocean Drive (A1A).

A couple months ago they pushed the estimated completion date from July to September. I am not sure that was because of this or if this will delay it further.

Since I will try to get there once a week, even if for only a couple hours, I will post updates as warranted
