May be an interesting example that scammers operate in factories where different people specialize in different roles. I did read about this strategy, but this seems to be my first real example:
The account pretends to be a 53-years successful business lady from Atlanta, GA, born on Germany, with a 9-years old son. The profile looks very good, targeted to gentlemen above 50, including nice details like education = PhD, "a lot of vacations at the Cap D'Agde in Southern France", "not into young men, ... only profiles with pictures". The pictures did not raise any warning flags, and the chats via Skype were enjoying.
However, because Skype will be shut down in May, we changed to Telegram -- and the Telegram account uses a phone number from Nigeria. How stupid! Additionally, the conversation died because of inactivity from her/him. It was like chatting with a totally different person. However, that makes sense if guessing that there were persons in the game.
My overall rating of this performance are only three stars (out of five): The professional profile and the chats (with person number 1?) deserve at least four stars, but the stupid mistake with the Telegram account and the poor conversation there (with person number 2?) ruined that.
I don't even waist my time with any of those type of accounts, when they only days or a week, have one pic and basic info is not even much. I asked what their favorite restaurant in the area since they indicated they lived in my area. I got a generic respond like pizza, so I asked which pizza place. No response. I just block and maybe report, but I'm always amazed that they have 'friends' and it's usually the same guys. I don't even give them two seconds of my time. This out of four platforms that are nudist format like this, TN is the only one that I get spammed on, it would be nice that there would be more 'controls' to keep these spammers off.
