why are there so many gay nudists?just curious
I think there's a social aspect. Gay men can make acquaintances on a nude beach. Straight men won't really find solo women to talk to (or to hit on), so they are more likely to visit if their wife/girlfriend is open to the idea. They can go with friends but they might consider it "gay." :) interesting question though.
I think it is due to proportion between male/female, your more lightly to find males naked then females and as we are very friendly we chat to each other being gay or not. Most of the time on my two local beaches they are 80% gay I would say, I don't mind one way or another, we are what we are.
I don't think there are necessarily more male (gay or straight) nudists/naturists than female, just that females are less likely to be on sites like this because the instant there account shows up, they get bombarded by nitwit perverts sending sexual messages and dick pics. I've known a few that gave up and left after mere hours because of it.

I've never seen a poll on the proportion of gay males to straight males on the nudist scene, so all I have are impressions. I do know that some resorts have a reputation for being more "gay-friendly" than others, so you'd expect to see more gay people there.
I also suspect that there are more gays who are open about their orientation in the nudist community than the textile community (which is to say that, while the proportion of gay/straight is the same, those gay men are more likely not to hide their orientation). After all, they've already passed through the gate of being nude in front of other people and finding acceptance for that, and are taking the next step and hoping that they'll find the same acceptance.
