Nude Sunbathing and Swimming : Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho

Just this last weekend I discovered a wonderful spot in beautiful north Idaho for those of us who want to feel the sun on our bodies. Lake Pend Oreille is a huge lake right up in the far north of Idaho, very big, very deep. In the north part of the lake are three islands: Warren Island, Cottage Island and Pearl Island. Warren, a big island with lots of cabins/houses, is the one closest to the north shore of the lake. Cottage Island is just south of Warren, and Pearl Island is the southernmost. Pearl Island is small, maybe ten acres, and until this year was private property that did not allow trespassers. Apparently the person who owned Pearl died and left the island to the state of Idaho, which has opened it up to public use. On the northwest side of the island is a small beach made of flat pebbles, sloping fairly steep into deeper water. It is perfect for sunbathing, swimming and lolling about nude. The few folks there, while not all nude or topless, seem very tolerant and accommodating of nudism; it is a very welcoming and wonderful place. It's accessible only by boat, obviously, but what a great spot.
