Thanks for your respectful reply and stating your point in a thoughtful manner. In the same way that nudity and sex get conflated, society also conflates God's will and instructions (incl but not limited to sexuality) with Church teachings. Where does that leave victims of clerical sexual abuse (myself included) in making healthy choices about individual sexuality to prevent sin and separation when the Church is clearly separated from its teachings in practicing institutional sexuality? The lack of accountability is what burns me decades later, not the fact that we all make mistakes. And if God sees our hearts and intents more than issues of population, I believe this loving Father, that loyal Son and that uncapturable Spirit will see sexuality as even more nuanced and all encompassing that I can imagine. Love one another. That is all.
