Was anyone else here introduced to nudism with casual male nudity?
Just wondering if anyone else was brought up where it was socially acceptable for men (and men only) to be casually naked? I'm asking because I hear it was common in the US up until the 70's. I experienced casual male nudity in Latin America. I guess since Latin America is behind the US they continued the practice at least until the early 2000's.
I remember when swimming men sometimes swam nude and on hot days we at least had the option of taking our clothes off to stay cool. If you were "like family" your friends parents would give you permission to take your clothes off if you wanted to. It was almost like they were being a good host by letting you know that if you were too hot that you could take off your clothes if you wanted.
I even remember that they considered men to be cowards or unmasculine if they were too shy to take their clothes off around women that were family or "like family". Some women didn't tolerate shy cowardly men and would tell you to take your clothes off on really hot days. My friends mom would tell me that seeing me with clothes on was making her hot so I had to take them off. So on hot days me and my friend got naked while his mother and sister wore clothes. His mom grew up in Brazil when it was still common for boys and men to get naked on occasion. I used to love walking around naked while my best friend's mom and sister was checking me out. I can't say for sure that they were but sometimes I felt that they were. His mom also had a habit of touching my butt occasionally.

Did you usually have an erection during these encounters?
I did not, but a good friend of mine did. He belonged to a gym that had separate workout areas for men and women and he told me many of the mem worked out nude
While he was already swimming nude in his own pool, this was a major step in his journey into nudism.
Growing up we use to go to the lake after my dad got home you could fish or swim and there were always other people there . If they fishing was bad I would ask to go swimming with my friends sometimes my mom would bring my suite sometimes not they would let me swim nude there was always a few boys swimming nude the girls never seemed to care

I've never encountered such a circumstance in Australia. It seems extraordinary that the guys were expected to strip down when the women weren't. What was the cultural mindset that the males were in such 'need' of cooling when the women weren't, and what were the women wearing themselves in these conditions?
In my opinion, men should have the fundamental right to be naked whenever and wherever they want, regardless of past customs and traditions. There must be a reason why it has not been customary for women to be naked. If being naked is part of what it means to be a man, then men shouldn't worry about customs and traditions, but simply take their clothes off. I believe that men should have the right to be naked at any time and in any place, regardless of who else is present, while women should have the option to be naked if they choose.
