You Are Searchable

What's the matter, moderators? Don't like the truth?

I just tried it: I logged out of TN and then did a Google search for my username. My entire profile including profile picture was visible. Yes, non-members, the general public (including employers) could accidentally discover your profile one day. TrueNudists apparently allows search spiders to crawl through here unobstructed. That is a shocking lack of security for a site like this.

If you're a proud nudist and don't care, that's fine. But if you value your privacy at all, I suggest deleting any sensitive info from your bio and putting up a profile picture that does not include your face.

Yes. And use a username that no one would associate with you.

and media posted never goes away. Even if you "delete" it. The only thing that gets deleted is the link to the media server. The actual photo or video remains and is accessible. No login required.

RE:You Are Searchable - "Setting Up A Profile".

I've written at length about this in a blog uploaded to the members blog page. "Setting Up A Profile".
Of course there is another "blogs" section without any clear distinction.
Go to your profile drop-down menu and click on "My blogs" and you will be taken to a page https://www.truenudists.com/members/blogs/ There you will find, for the present and near future the blog "Setting Up A Profile".
No recognizable profile photo
No profile name that reveals your location
No recognizable public photos
The blog is not about total opacity/privacy but how you can balance your privacy from the public without compromising your "openness" to other members and all levels in between.

Did you set any of the privacy settings on your account? Ours is set to non-searchable by bots and nothing shows up on a Google search.

I did a search. It indeed came up on Page 4 of the listings, but the photos can't be seen. There is a huge sign on them that say Sign up or Log in to see them. I actually don't mind it. I list my link on FB and many of my co-workers and most of my friends know I'm a nudist, so I don't mind. But the photos are very faint and have the sign on them, so you can't really see them.
