Regard the Solo Male Threat

Q: Are single males still a threat in nudist venues or at clothing-optional, clothing-free, events? Here is a new bit I wrote today, elsewhere online and thought, 'Hey, this might be pretty good to re-use on other forums! ... So, here it goes as well.

The Threat

Perhaps there may yet emerge a cultural shift or determination that "simple" nudity is a thing ANY person may "own" and enjoy, and that in our community setting women (ladies, daughters, young children, and self-declared "realigners") will be protected and defended, aggressively! ... I think this is ALREADY true in fact, and that there must be a misperception that people (females) will be -- or are being, sexually harassed or molested and I believe the reality of BOTH organized social nudism and society in general is quite different!

We do seek to STOP sexually harassing behaviors, ARE observant for inappropriate and pedophile type behaviors and DO have a code of ethics which I would say is better, stronger and more well understood than in clothed society at large! .. Think of it!

Is there a "male threat" these days which is capable of "going unnoticed" in nudist groups, venues and land-owning communities? I highly doubt it, and one obvious reason is IF a male gets aroused by some behavior they are doing, the nudists around them ARE going to notice!

Sexual deviancy is NOT like the legendary vampirism where those "with" it or "doing" it only come out at night. We, the community of nudists, know what it consists of (mostly) and are united in opposition towards the majority of it, I think. We somewhat allow for people to engage in their fetishes if they desire, behind closed doors, and even younger people SHOULD by this time know, "No" means "No" and any unwanted behavior should be reported immediately. "See something, say something".

So, where is the "threat" of single males anymore? Unless someone brings a weapon, such as a gun, knife, or "capacity diminishing" drugs to a nudist community AND manages to successful isolate someone from others long enough to USE that thing, they really do not stand a chance -- within our community!

Isolated pockets of solo practicing nudists, or couples, or teenagers, young adults and college students practicing nudism on their own AWAY FROM established venues are, I suggest, at greater risk of abuse! People should know this now also and (potentially anyway) be able to talk about it openly in a forthcoming way. Many states and jurisdictions have "Sex Offender" registries as a part of open records at this point, do you talk about this openly as a family? Are your young people aware of it, do they understand saying "No" and MAKING SOME NOISE to get attention are options for them?

This is important and on the whole, more discussion of it could probably serve to "erase" the legacy stigma of the "single male" as a predatory sort of thing that MAY be out there among us. It is much, many times, more likely to happen in fully clothed, or sexually repressed and "conservative" settings, and this may be where the "true" danger lives and breathes.
