Steve, you confessed two things. First is that you don't even wear your glasses at the beach so you don't see people around very clearly. Second, that you would rather be the only one dressed than the only one naked in a group of ladies (or preferred gender). Which makes you more of an exhibitionist than a voyeur. Ok, not in a medical or judgemental sense. You like more to be seen than to see others in the nude.
My husband is the opposite. He sees quite well but prefers to wear sunglasses with the -0.25 he needs to see perfectly and he absolutely doesn't care what kind of bath suit he wears when he needs to wear one.
I'm a bit in between. I think I am more of a voyeur than exhibitionist because I like to see people walking around naked and I'd rather be the only one clothed than the only one naked in a group of whatever gender you want. But I modelled naked for six photographers. On the other hand, I shot 15 (or is it 16? I have to check) naked ladies and a couple of guys (single, not as part of erotic shots). So feeling the elements on my naked body is great. Seeing the other is very good. Being seen by other is fine - bit I still want to feel a bit elegant and attractive in this case. So yes, more of a voyeur I guess.
Hi Flora, it's great to see you writing again! You always have a unique and sophisticated take on common experiences.
I can out myself as the woman who got you to exchange pussy pics, and yes I was surprised that you had none. Open leg bare experiences are often a challenge for women who were brought up to be very careful about what shows. Over the years in my own life-drawing modeling at colleges I've been able to push the envelope in terms of my legs and poses. Yet, I am still careful not to be too obvious. And yes, it does make a difference when posing with my pussy very visible to a class versus other poses.
I'm curious about the last few years, and hope perhaps we can share more (in private). Some things in my life have changed too.
Hugs and kisses, and thanks again for the additional background on your journey!
Conni
It's good for men to read those experiences outlined by Flora and Conni, most men don't appreciate or understand what women go through to get to this point. My late wife grew early, was above average in height, was pretty with blond hair and very big boobs, she got lots of attention, much of which she did not want. I think it must take some women some time to grow to cope with this and maybe some don't. My wife was great with me but a bit reluctant to show much to anyone else. In a bikini she turned heads, she knew that and was shy about it mostly. When we travelled along the NSW coast in Australia, I had a list of nude beaches and we visited lots, I would be naked and she would be topless after she relaxed, and nude men always took notice. She hardly ever was comfortable to be fully nude, only a couple of times and when we were a long way from other people.
As a man, it took me a little while, I have an average or a bit more than average endowment and most men want to measure up as showers in the showers or at a CO beach. I'm a grower and my wife made me comfortable with that even though she would not call herself a nudist. She liked my whole body not just the genitals, and I have always liked to stay fit & healthy. She did too and even after 3 kids, she still looked good and I loved telling her that. Still turned heads until cancer treatment caused her body to atrophy but she remained beautiful to me.
Steve, of course. Life would be very boring if everyone was either a voyeur or an exhibitionist. You would either want to see something which nobody cares to show or want to show something which nobody cares to look at.
One would expect that in nudism most men be on the voyeur side and most women on the exhibitionist side. I am not going to repeat here the reasons for this assumption. While it does seem that most women here (well, the few women here) are indeed on the exhibitionist side it also seems that most men are the same. There may be a good explanation for this paradox. A nudist site selects for exhibitionist men. Like D, once you see that there are very few women around here, as a voyeur why would you waste your time once you realise you will never meet one irl? The internet is full of places where you can admire women beauty, but a lot less places where average men can show their family jewels.
Conni, sure, I'd like to know what you have become, but I think that there are parts of your life which all guys here would like to read about. I still remember our public exchange of erotic dreams which I'm sure made many guys feel some tingling down there. Well, it did make me feel that way.
Soonbnude, I am sorry for your loss. Your deep love for your late wife and your treasuring her memory are very touching.
What are we all talking about here? Well, I have to say, what would benefit men is that they also like to show themselves off. Sometimes I get bombarded with nude pictures in chat rooms, and I've even had to do some social work to make sure everything's fine and that we have a little pump inside us that regulates that anyway. But let's be honest: Showing off is still in our bones. And those who aren't quite so modern and therefore completely devoid of all human instincts also like to look, because, as they say, "choose wisely" (and healthily). And that applies to both genders here. And we also have a wonderful platform here to get to know each other, like on the beach, and that's a huge advantage in my eyes. So, if we no longer need definitions for any -ism/ism, we can truly show ourselves as we are and see ourselves as we are. I would find it unfair if someone were condemned for being aroused by it. Perhaps God intended it that way.
I find it beautiful that Flora, a mystery to me she prefers privacy and doesn't reveal her face here has described her path as a liberation of her sexual energy and feminine destiny it is ONE path. But we here in Eastern Europe may function quite differently? We stay naked on the beach for a long time. You might find us naked in the living room while our parents or even visitors are clothed. The less populated an area is, the more likely you are to find us skinny-dipping even at 13, 14, or 17. If there are two of us, nothing can stop us anyway. It's almost disgusting to feel wet swimwear. Our physical development is also generally not hidden, but rather duly celebrated. With men, quietly. With women, uninhibitedly, with touching. But what I think will appeal to all of us is the love for a table or the particularly good height of a washing machine. Thank you, Flora, for this beautiful text.
I think all of our stories just prove the journey is a personal one, it's not exactly the same for anyone it seems. Whether it is Flora concealing her face here or my wife keeping her bikini bottom on but happily going to CO beaches with me and letting me be naked and comfortable. We would all remember our first visit to a nude beach, the excitement, the trepidation, the gradual process to get naked, the worry about getting an erection and then what to do, enjoying seeing others there but not looking too much, that first walk down for a swim with nothing on and realising no one really cares.
For me it went from going with a couple of friends initially as a bit of fun, to going there lots on my own and sometimes with my partner. And enjoying that walk to the water and then along the beach, the freedom of being able to walk naked in public, that all helped with the acceptance. I happily removed pubic hair gradually at first and then the full monty as that it total nudity to me, no hair concealing anything. In the first couple of years after my wife died, I would walk for miles on a CO beach I like, part was not really legal but no one cared, it was cathartic and liberating but helped me in many ways.
Just one amendment. I did show my face here quite a number of times. Twice only last week. Older members have seen me naked hundreds of times. But I do cover my eyes in nude pics number one, to not be recognised in the street (I do share here very intimate details, which I have only shared with my best girlfriends and I also sometimes embellish my stories) and number two, to remove incentives for members to use my pics on other sites.
Yes, we all have our own journey to nudism. I do believe that this is more often something coming from deep inside for men than for women. This is for cultural reasons very much linked to our third sexual phase, but this is more for another topic. I am not a real nudist, I am nothing ending in ism by the way, I am just someone who is occasionally (albeit quite frequently) nude socially. And this is for three main reasons. First, the 3 S, sea, sun and spas are so much better to experience in the nude. Second, my man loves this. Third, I am not ashamed of my body, I know that people like to see it and I am comfortable with that. Does this third reason make me an exhibitionist? Not more than if I dress up in a short, tight and low-cut dress for an evening out. And I think that I look better in an evening dress but most guys prefer to see me naked. And this is a nudist site so I show my self as naked as I can be - in my pics and in my posts.
But I do like beautiful things, from dresses to -yes- nude and even erotic images. So I do take and pose for some. The fact that I upload them on the sister group or that I often tease a bit here may be seen as exhibitionism. So yes, I probably am a bit exhibitionist but I think you guys (very few ladies active in this group like on this site) would prefer to see and read these things than to know who I am irl and only read and see conventional things which I would share with vague friends.
