Medical examination
Nearly half a century ago, when I was in my eary 30s, I had an operation on my throat at St Pancras Hospital. London. A day or two before the operation, a young man wearing a white coat pulled curtains around my bed and said he needed to examine me. I assumed (or maybe he said - it was a long time ago) that he was a junior doctor, but perhaps he was a medical student, or even an intruder, although I doubt that. The only part of my body which he examined was my penis. At the time, I just accepted that there must have been a medical reason for this detailed examination, but subsequently I have wondered. Could it be that he had never seen a circumcised penis and had been advised to extend his education while an opportunity offered? Or did he get sexual pleasure from looking at and touching penises? I will never know, but I wondered whether anyone had any ideas of possible explanations.
