Improving the backyard
Hi Adam, I've put shrubs along one of the property lines and when it's fully leafed in it's very private. Also put up a 7 ft fence along the other property line. And then I've enclosed my deck with privacy screening (lattice). I can walk around my backyard now completely naked and even mow the grass that way sometimes. I am naked out there all summer long.

Yeah when we lived in downtown Phoenix. I had built a six foot fence for my freedom. But the neighbors built a second story to their house and I didnt care. Still stayed naked !
Since we moved to a small town. I have been working on making this a private space for being free. There was a block six foot fence already. But it has sections where its a little lower. But the patio that I built is almost nudist friendly. Just a few things to finish. But the neighbors just laughed after seeing us naked. Lol
Hey Adam - We have a 6' block wall between our homes and that offers a good bit of privacy, but we wanted to be able to be nude anywhere in our backyard but our neighbor has an elevated pool deck. So we added Ficus trees to both sides of our backyard and it offers 100% privacy. Hit them with miracle grow weekly for the 1st year and they are not over 12' tall and have grown together so we have the privacy we wanted. We can garden, play with the dogs, swim, bbq, hit the spa, lay out...you name it and all in the nude. Good luck!
Got the garden done last summer with new 6 foot fence and patio at the end, tall trees halfway down so neighbour's houses can't see me when I'm there. Managed to sunbathe nude a lot there, although I almost got caught out when the neighbour went up his ladder to trim a tree haha!
I have a privacy fence around the entire backyard, it's very private except for the one side that is between my yard and the neighbors. There is a utility way between our yards ( about a 12 foot wide section owned by the city where they service internet, cable, etc). There used to be evergreen trees planted along there, 4 summers ago that city cut down the trees, so it really opened up the view into my back yard even though I have a 6 ft privacy fence, the neighbors could now see into my back patio if they were at the perfect angle. So I did some research on how to extend the height of a privacy fence.
Home Depot sells this piece that attaches to the top of each 4x4 post, so I purchased 12 of those, then I took 4x4 posts and cut them into 2 ft sections, I attached to the top of each fence post, then I cut my stringers and attached between each top post, then cut my cedar planks down to 2 1/2 ft and boom, it added an additional 2 1/2 feet to the height of the fence. It turned out better than I expected, I've planted honeysuckle along that side of the fence, makes for get views in the summer, watching the hummingbirds come and go. I've had it up for 4 years and no problems at all, even with the wicked winds we get here in Kansas. Problem solved, now my backyard is completely private again.
Ive planted pampas grass along the edge of my backyard that borders neighbors behind my house. Going to out in more this year. I am considering ways to increase the height of the blocked view along the fence as well. While this is not plantings Im considering purchasing some all weather curtains for the screened in porch so it can be used nude with no worries. It is a few feet off the ground and provides a perfect view for nosey people.
