Easy-on, easy-off shorts

Some time ago I saw where someone had invented and marketed shorts that were very easy to get on and off. If my memory is right, they were a single piece of cloth that velcroed together. He had had the dilemma of driving nude and being stopped by a cop, and invented these so you could easily flip them on and off. Does anyone remember seeing these anywhere, or know of something similar? It wouldn't be hard to modify an existing pair, but easier just to buy them.

Necessity is the mother of invention!

even though the "i only look for flaggable offenses crowd" will probably jump all over this, the naturist society sells those velcro secured terry wraps. they have the naturist society logo and a pocket on them.

Entertaining thread! I need shorts that are easy to get on or off without removing tennis shoes! Do lots of nude yardwork, and have to leave the protected back yard and need to throw on a pair.

RE: Easy-on, easy-off shorts

I have two kilts from https://www.sportkilt.com/index.php which wrap and velcro at the waist. No problem. The hiking kilt is wonderful to hike in particularly in hot weather - probably the best for the purpose of anythng I've ever worn. But that's in the woods where you hardly ever meet anyone else. But this is not England but NEW England, and kilts are quite conspicuous. I've never seen anyone but me wear them on the street, and I've done it only once or twice.
It's not easy to step in and out of shorts and pull them up when you're sitting behind the wheel. I'm after something so that I can get into the car, unbotton or take off the shirt, undo the "shorts" and drive nude, then velcro the shorts back on, get into the T-shirt, climb out and go get the groceries. Inconspicuous and normal-looking, in other words.
I think I'd go with a pair of slightly too-large shorts, cut them down the sides, and add velcro so that front and back overlap a bit when together, the bottom of the leg also fastens. As I said, easy enough to make, but I was hoping something like that would be for sale somewhere.

would love to find shorts like that that I can use doing yardwork or just for lounging around when company is here and want to feel like I can be nude at a minute.

RE: Easy-on, easy-off shorts

I was thinking more about this, and it seems to me that shorts like I described - cut down the outside of both legs and velcroed - would be hard to deal with standing up. Their purpose is for use sitting, like when driving.

Otherwise some kind of wrap would be a lot easier. The Sport Kilt outfit I mentioned has velcro-fastened, inexpensive (for kilts) and nice-looking kilts, or AANR, NS, and many others sell short wraps. I wear a sarong a lot in the summer. Very comfortable, and it does look like an article of clothing. Men wear these in hot climates all over the world. I wouldn't wear one downtown, but around the yard it's fine. Not exactly easy-on/easy-off, but not too bad.

For a pair of shorts that would be easy to get on and off when standing, you could cut down the otside of one leg and across the crotch and put velcro fasteners at both cuts. Someone else described ones like that.

I use a pair of light weight nylon running shorts that are slit up the sides to the waist. I cut out the liner. when rushing to put them on the "leg holes" are quite large since the slits up the sides to the waist effectively enlarge the area of foot aim. They work reasonably well and even if you have to keep them on are really "much of nothing". I use them all the time while loading and unloading my kayak in public launch areas. Even while wearing them while driving they can be pulled aside and you are "nearly naked".

I was thinking about the slit running shorts. I think I'd cut the waist at both sides where the overlap is, and velcro them, leaving the liner in.

These still fall a little short of my getting-the-groceries criterion, but would do, probably.

RE: basketball pants

The basketball pants probably would do. I could see getting a cheap pair of what used to be called gym shorts, which are similar but shorter - actually I have a pair that I've never used, come to think of it. I'll check it out. Thanks for the idea!
