My first "Dare to Bare it" was from Truenudist

I joined Truenudist in 2010 and one of the first groups I joined was a group called "Dare to Bare it". One of the admins of the group "dared" the group to go to a public venue get nude take pictures and share them with the group.

I thought long and hard about this. Where do I go and could I actually do it? I was new to this after all. Weeks went by. I couldn't find a place to do it. I finally realized that on any given Tuesday afternoon, early cocktail hour one of my neighborhood pubs that I visited was very slow and wouldn't actually get going until around 6PM.

One nice summer day and after having given it a lot of thought, I decided I was going to do it! I was nervous as hell! I was a newbie nudist and at this time only been to one nude beach that same summer.

I wore shorts and a tee shirt and tennis shoes. (I don't wear undies unless I have to). I went into the pub around 4PM and ordered a beer and the bartender (a friend) served me. I took my spot at the front corner of the bar near the door where I usually stand. There were only 5 people in the pub, and I was expecting a friend at any moment. The bartender and I started chatting and I told him that I had a dare and I was going to get naked in a few minutes.

I told him what the dare was, and he started laughing (and joking) and saying things like oh yeah right and good luck with that, HA HA. My friend walked in about that time (he knew what I was doing and I wanted him to take photos).

As he was talking, I took off my shirt, and he continued to laugh and shook his head and served my friend and turned around to help the other patrons at the bar. I slipped off my shorts and placed them on the stool on top of my shirt. My friend was actually shocked. He didn't think I was really going to follow through with it. I was very nervous and shaking a little bit.

The bartender came back to the bar next to us and I walked away from the bar and I said "see?" He just howled! He said he couldn't believe I actually did it! He said that he was fine with it, but the manager was going to be there around 6PM and that I needed to get dressed by then. I said okay, sure. He shook his head and move on to help some new arrivals who'd just walked in.

I stayed nude for a while even when new customers came in and even when the manager (whom I also knew) walked in and all he did was laugh and shake his head. He came over to ask "what the hell are you doing?" in a humorous way and I told him what I was doing. He said that I was crazy and politely asked me to step around the corner away from the front bar so that I wouldn't be the first thing the new customers would see when walking in. I said okay but moved by to my spot when he went in the back.

I ended up being the only one nude for about 4 and a half hours. More people came in and a lot of them I knew and they all wanted to know why I was naked. I came out as a nudist to them all. I LOVED IT. I still get naked whenever possible. Yes, I've aged (and since retired) but I am a free nudist. I support body positive events and socializing.

There are several photos in my media of me nude in public. There are two which are kind of dark and older pictures with a friend in a white shirt sitting next to me. These were taken that day at the pub around 2011. Enjoy! ;)
