Advice on First Time Outing

Hi all,

I decided last week that I want to try out nudism. There is an open house to a local resort which I am planning on going to (since it's free for open house).

What do I need to take? I know sunscreen but I am not than tan and know that if I decide to undress, I do not want to burn my "whiter" spots on my body.

Any other advice would be appreciated.

You will need a towel to sit on in public places. Everyone needs one. That is about the only special rule.
All other behavior is the same as if you were visiting other public resorts.

A towel, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
Douglas Adams, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

You can also use it to keep your cooties off the public furniture.

And try to keep down the staring. At the Willamettans resort, they say "One second is a glance, two seconds is a stare."

They have a very handy pamphlet that explains what they expect of first time visitors. If you make contact with them, they'll be happy to send you one. Their web site is :

These are really good advice posts people are sharing.

Always take confidence and a towel to nudist resorts.

And do not go for dating, just let things happen, and do not go beyond the means of normal polite conversation.

Always make ways to escape harmful or toxic conversations that are self-destructive or dangerous situations.

Do not engage with the "sexuality polyamorous lifestyle people" if you really do not want that. Apply that logic to anything you genuinely want to avoid that is reasonable and possible to avoid that is proven detrimental.

And nobody talks about religion much at every single resort, so always be mindful of the others.

Be Careful!

Look out for predatory behavior, or people spiking drinks ILLEGALLY when it IS BANNED AND NOT PERMITTED. Report Spiking of Drinks ILLEGALLY to THE OWNERS OF THE FACILITIES OR THE GOVERNMENT LAW-ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IF YOU HAVE PROVEN VERIFIED EVIDENCE!!

And, as MR. Fred McFeely Rogers said, ""ALWAYS Look for the Helpers!""

I have been to nudist resorts in other states in the United States since I was about 22. I do not have to give which ones I visited earlier in my life.

Best Wishes.

Later.

Yes it is important to enjoy chaste nudity. Although the body is in the beginning connected to erotic nudity. Its the Pavlovian reflex. Takes some time to get rid of it until you enjoy chaste and natural nudity. But it is worth it and a visit to a resort is a good start.
