How to respond to a friend request?

I am new here and don't know how to act when getting friend requests with a few nice sentences. Before clicking "accept" I want to know more about this person. When opening their profile there are no stored pictures where I can see how this person looks like. Is the only possibility to communicate with that person by sending a personal message from the profile?

If there isnt enough detail visible on the profile to make you feel comfortable then just ignore the request. I wouldnt worry about digging deeper. I would definitely ignore requests from women who have only recently joined TN and have accumulated a large number of friends. They are quite likely to be fake/scam profiles.

Ich lehne Anfragen von Leuten mit einem leeren, nicht aussagekraeftigen oder obskuren Profil immer ab. Das manche keine Fotos haben, liegt aber teilweise auch daran, dass nicht zertifizierte User seit geraumer Zeit gar keine mehr hochladen koennen.

There is a "Friend Request" icon on the top menu. It leads back to you "Username" menu where there is a Friend page. One of the tabs on that page is "Friend Request". Choose that tab.
I am working on a PC using the Fire Fox browser. I open the requester's profile by right clicking on the requester's name in a new tab or window.
