Spa World Visit 9/19

Hey guys. Went to Spa World Saturday morning. Got there around 8 right when it opened -- best time to get there. Woman at the front desk decided to assign all the men the same section of lockers, which made getting undressed a bit challenging. Only about 4-6 guys in the wet area for a good hour, started to fill up around 10-10:30 but still not too crowded (12 topis). All the jets seemed to be working (at least the ones I tried). The one pool next to the cold plunge wasn't working (but hasn't been in years). Otherwise pretty good; bade pool 95 which was slightly chilly for me but fine once I got settled in.

I also learned that if the sauna and steam are too hot for you usually (which they are for me, which has always been a disappointment because I love both usually), if you get there right at 8 they are fairly bearable. Hit the poultice rooms a bit too; red clay ball was the best (even if I did nearly trip getting settled -- like walking across hundreds of marbles). but worth it once I got settled. Highly recommend. Common areas very crowded (much more men than women); no one in the fitness room.

By around 1 back in the wet area, it was packed (no parking spots in the bade pool and the tubs on the side were fairly full too with around 4-5 guys in each at the busiest time). Maybe 30-35 men so I bailed soon after. Only saw three men in suits, which was great; 2-3 guys shaving to the side. Pretty diverse, chill crowd, which was very welcome compared with past trips. Some chatting too here and there. Only saw one guy heading for a scrub, and a few brave souls in the 49-degree cold plunge. Good trip.
