Social Nudist, Sexual Nudist, or Both? Nudism is not MONOLITHIC.

Nudism is not monolithic. There are social nudists. There are sexual nudists. They are all nudists, regardless of AANR and British Naturism rules. To deny this is to deny reality. There are many venues and resorts that could care less about AANR rules and certification. The same nudist could be a social nudist at an AANR property one day and a week later could be a sexual nudist at a non-AANR venue. It is most arrogant for social nudists to declare only they are real nudists. Additionally, most people in the non-nudist world look upon all nudists as weirdos. If you do not want to participate in sexual nudism, then don't go to places where that is acceptable. At the same time, if one engages in sexual nudism at an AARP property, they will rightfully be expelled.

Most people reading this do not believe there is anything shameful about a naked human body - it is natural. Is sexuality any less natural? Regardless of whether or not you like it, nudists do not have one set of beliefs, perspectives and behavior standards that every nudist embraces.
Variety is the spice of life. Live and let live. Don't expect everybody to think like you do. Respect the choices of others as you want them to respect the choices you have made. COEXIST

There are nudist resorts and there are swingers resorts.

The people who conflate the two are the problem. This is the reality.

There are (social) nudists. There are (sexual) swingers. To deny this is to deny reality. It is most arrogant for swingers to go to public nude places (like beaches) claim they are just sexual nudists and behave inappropriately, and get the public nude places shut down for actual nudists. This is why we won't live and let live. Swingers need to respect the choices of others (nudists AND non-nudists). Keep the swinging to swinger resorts and there won't be any problems. But far too often this isn't what happens and when confronted, out comes the "I'm just a sexual nudist and you have to respect my choices". If you really want to swing somewhere in public, go to La Baie des Cochons (Pig Beach) at Cap d'Agde. Keep going at it when the police arrive and find out the hard way it is illegal there, too.

Can someone check this please, Im not on TrueSwingers, are there any threads that say,

Antisocial Swingers/ Nonsexual Swingers, both? Swinging isnt Monolithic. Thats a big hard rock if you didnt know so maybe swinging is.

I very much doubt there is going to be anything like that.

People use words like, sexual nudist, or Open minded or if they are really kinky, Very open minded. We all know what it means, there is no need for the code. Just say, wannabe swinger, or is that too seedy for you?

So, youre not having sex anymore, the last time you had an erection people were still worrying about the Y2K bug and your too scared to tell the wife youve joined a swingers site, so you join a nudist site and pretend they are doing it wrong.

Jeez,, it isn't complicated.
As I see it, there are only two categories of nudist: private and social. The private nudist enjoys the nudist lifestyle when alone but is not comfortable with others. The social nudist enjoys being in the company of other nudists in a manner that doesn't focus on sexuality.

I would not consider swingers as a subset of social nudists, because for them the focus is on sexuality. This isn't to say that social nudists are asexual, but social nudists keep their sexual lives separate from social interaction, just as clothed people do in social environments.

There are nudist resorts and there are swinger resorts. Swingers behave like nudists. They hide their real interests behind nudist behaviour. Cap dAgde which is a swinger resort, is even called naturist village. Completely bullshit. But this is how they behave.

Marcus, I completely agree with you.

Swingers cant be swingers and nudists. Its a completely different lifestyle, different mindset and different social contract.

Yes, a swinger can visit a nude beach or nudist resort, but just like the tiger, they cant change their stripes. They dont stop being swingers at a textile resort so why would that change at a nudist resort?

Im saddened at whats happened at Cap dAgde it used to be the prime destination of nudists from all over the world, and would be our bucket list resort, but from first hand descriptions from fellow nudist over the years its not now even considered as a real option anymore.

Agreed on Cap. That's why we asked you about Charco del Palo. Either that or Vera Playa (or both!) will be our bucket list destination instead.

We have looked at Vera Playa a number of times but decided to wait until we have both retired and have more time. Still seeing Vlogs where people are confused as to which parts are nudist and which arent.

Thats not a problem in Charco, as long as you dont mind the remoteness and the need for a hire car then its perfect.

We are waiting on both of them until we retire! From the US, flights will be expensive but accommodations are cheaper than St. Martin so it only makes sense if we can go for 2+ weeks. Hopefully they both stay MONOLITHIC until we have a chance to visit. And yes, we do realize there is a swinger's club in Vera Playa (in the nude zone even!) but they are upfront in stating what they are.
