Flooding in PA

The flooding was caused by the PA Fish and Boat commission, Penn State cooperative and DCNR. They will allow no one to clean the creeks and remove the debris such as trees or large gravel bars. The trees plugged the bridges and turned them into dams and flooded everything behind them. This is what happens when enviromental nut cases get in charge. They know nothing about what they practice but they get to make all the rules. Everyone else must bear the consequences of their actions.

One day it may happen that a bridge dams up and so much water builds behind that the bridge gives way. It will be like a mini tsunami with the crushing power of mud. Large boulders, trees, and possibly houses and cars, depending on the bridge and landscape, will move with tremendous speed and power. VERY dangerous for those downstream.

They are also keeping reservoirs like the one behind Francis Walter Dam (Lehigh river) higher than they had in past decades. The reason they give for this is so they can release colder water from the deeper reservoir. This keeps the river colder for more miles past the dam and the native fish like the water colder. They believe this will attract more fishermen and create revenue from licence and tourism. By keeping them so full they can't absorb as much new water as they used to so it MUST be released downstream. I know because I live by the Lehigh River. I imagine they are doing this at the other dams also.
