There are alot of kookie rules around these days ! No nudity in the steam room? Please !!!! I recall in my high school gym class in Michigan in the Wintertime, about 30-40 of us guys swam in the nude in the school's indoor pool. That was mainly because their was no way to store bathing suits from day to day, especially for several different gym classes per day. Solution: everybody skinnydipped. We also had a large common shower room where all of us would shower en masse. No stalls, no walls, no barriers of any kind. Times have changed, unfortunately. I have my doubts that the old high school allows that anymore. If so, too bad !
Oh, give me naked locker room any day. I am naked loads and dressing is the last thing I do. Naked open showers are the best. I see no reason to cover up. Embrace nudity and feel happy about yourself, that's what I say.
What is the use of having a locker room if u can't be naked in there???? there is nothing more refreshing than taking a shower in a group shours like we did as kids and chating while cleaning up. Or drying off in the locker room talking with everyone, what is this world coming to, that u have to do the towel dance, because someone doesn't beleave in nudity??????
Lostlad, I totally don't understand wearing boxers under board shorts. Especially because the boxers are probably cotton, which holds the water, instead of a synthetic material like the swimsuit. My solution (of course) is to just go naked. Much easier to get dry.
nakedbudman, I was in the gym over the summer when they held and open house. There was a certain 6 year old hanging around the locker room. I'm sure he told mom he had to pee. But I saw him both as I was starting my workout, and then again an hour later when I was done. Have no idea what his issue was, but I'm guessing he doesn't have enough male role models in his life.

I am always amazed when I see guys covering themselves up and getting into the shower with their underwear on. I don't get it. When I am in the locker room, I get naked and I don't care. I will post a couple pics here of me in the locker room.

As several have expressed, if the locker room is not for nudity (as a minimum place we'd hope), where is?In my experience to some extent it comes down to peer behaviour, but some of this behaviour is deeply inbred. I have swum at a small suburban gym most days for close to the last decade. In the locker room it has two shower stalls with lockable doors, and one larger open stall, then between male and female rooms it has mixed use wet and dry saunas (with expected signs about appropriate wear in this area.). The place has a large regular clientele, and those who come and go. Amongst the regulars you know the few who will always get naked, walk around with towel over shoulder, and particularly those who, like me, always use the open stall (generally older, but not only). It's interesting at peak times to see the reaction of those who only have the option of the open stall - some will use it, others will walk out without a shower (not as gross as it sounds in a climate where you can be sweaty again before you've reached your car even if you did shower). There are some guys I've now seen in there hundreds of times, but never naked, and I don't expect some of them will ever change their behaviour. Yet there are also some I've seen dozens of times never naked, until one day when it's just them and me (or me and another of the usually naked ones) in the locker room and suddenly they dispense with the towel dance, or use the open stall. So see if you and some other naked mates can become the majority at different times in your locker room, and see if you can make some converts.
