RE: Less Activity on the New Forum ?

Yes I think the old front page should never have been changed, most people would prefer to keep that part, if nothing else.
I dunno.......
Personally, I was offended by the "nudist of the moment" featured pic, didn't care for the "random gallery" photo, and especially that clicking on any of them didn't take you to that photo, and never ever cared for who was "popular."

In fact, the ONLY aspect of the old page I liked was the most recent 10 forum posts/threads.
Since the "recent" tag on the new forum page has expanded that to 20 or so, I find this to be an improvement, and has apparently dramatically reduced the "spam bump" and useless diversionary postings to do nothing more than displace a thread someone didn't personally agree with.

it was better with the top ten or so on the home page not having to search by subject
As above, I find the recent button on the forum page MORE than makes up for not having it on a "home" page.
and the fb layout who's friends with who etc stinks
It's an expanded notice of what your "friends" are doing. I find it mostly pointless. Somehow, I'd have a slight preference for the old who uploaded pics and who just got certified, but it's an incredibly minimal preference.

Ha ! True that ! ( but it's been boring with largely trolling and political arguments for a long time, IMHO )

Personally, I do log in somewhat less frequently due to practical details, but nevertheless find less and less reasonable things to comment on. Never been a big topic starter, but happy to comment and throw in any advise, should there be need for such. Lately nothing of substance has reached my attention, so been quiet as well. Maybe all the worthwhile topics have been already discussed???

Fits me as well.
I don't think they have all been discussed, but open discussion has certainly been supressed by a vocal minority hurling insults, and generally personal slights instead of substance, to the point that methinks many are no longer willing to make any attempt at reasonable discourse.

There was a time when not every thread was pages and pages of how it's a gay issue, or how the other posters were simply mentally inferior to one with "obvious" superiority, and it WAS a much more interesting, sociable, and generally fun site in those days.

I fear that absent obvious moderation ( there appears to be some covert moderation going on, though I have no real evidence ) those days are gone.

like others have said, that there seems little to make comment on as regards Forum Postings etc.
Methinks this isn't due the format change, but is related to the character of the site as defined by the posts of the last year or so, more or less.

I too, find myself less and less interested in participating with such a confrontational bunch as seems to have largely taken over.

I don't need to know what they have said to their friends
HEAR ! HEAR ! ( but, that must be the way facebook does it ? )

but am left wondering why TT1/TT2 haven't made some comment via a FORUM POST to let the members know what their reactions are to the amending of things we do not favour etc.
I've seen one or two by TT2, but nothing from TT1 for as long as I can remember about anything important.
There is/was the blog thing, but it's been dormant for years now.

Anyhow, that's my take on several things....

Hadn't ever noticed that "recent posts" button before, glad you mentioned it!

I think the problem is that since the most recent forum topics isn't one of the first things you see, people have to take a definite action to view the forum and it's just a few more keystrokes away from being first in your mind.Exactly, another good reason for keeping the main page.

It's computers that have made people lazy.People have the will to do as they please concerning computers. Use them or not, do things or not.
If computer's are "making them" lazy, their weak willed as well.Yes I agree with you, but only as regards the mature person. The younger people of today have grown up with computers and silly electronic games, it is a way of life. I was reading a newspaper article last year about how unhealthy the kids are because of computers. The UK and USA now have the highest number of obese children in the world. Also what is amazing in the modern western world is the very high percentage of children suffering from rickets, something that was unheard of in this country for many decades. And the cause is lack of sunlight due to spendind majority of their time indoors.

Thank you kindly for bringing that to my attention, dear sir. The problem with that, is, my post count may rapidly diminish even more mysteriously than thine

Ideas and topics get repeated and there is only so much that you want to say.Unless you're a woman that is. Women always find something to say, just so they can have the last word. ( I hope my wife doesn't read this, ha,ha, )
