I picked the biggest green caterpillar I've ever seen off of a bell pepper today

Went out very early this morning and found a pepper plant missing most of it's leaves, and the pretty, good-zed pepper looking like it had been shave with a paring knife. I was mystified, and had to look for a long while to find this solid light green caterpillar that was as big as one of my fingers, about 4 inches long. I didn't see any more on the plants, but I'm going to keep my eyes on it.

My wife caught a huge catepillar on our jalepenos, cut off every leaf on the plants. but he did leave the peppers!!! She took that catepillar off and smeared him all over the patio! She was sooo pissed off. She said the bugger was like 5 inches long.

After Googling, I found that mine are (yep, found a couple more) are just Tomato Horn Worms. I've found three, picked them off with minimal damage to the plants on the second and third. I'm keeping an eye out.

we had a tomoto worm attack last week about four of those critters and they don't let loose easily needless to say the ants were hungry and had a feast.

Those things can wipe out a plant before you even know they're there! I think I got rid of all of the ones I had, but then came the huge grasshoppers. I'm still killing them.

Gerry is alergic to fire ants, so i can't promote the "ant feeding", in a constant fight to keep them out!
