Chat room information

These are the rules you agree to before you go in to chat room.
h2Chat Room Rules and Regulations/h2
p style="line-height: 2em;"1. No Sexual Discussion, or Sexual Activities on Chat
2. No Crotch Shots. Faces on cam please.
3. If you do not want to be seen on your cam. Do not use it. Your cam is
visible to all users.
4. Please talk nice. No trolling.
5. Flag users who do not follow the rules.
6. Have Fun!
p style="line-height: 2em;"
p style="line-height: 2em;"If you want to use your cam in chat, under your picture there are buttons marked A and V. The A is for audio and allows you to use your mike if you have on. The V is for your video. If the cam does not come up, you may have to click settings which is under these buttons and select your camera. If you use a Mac instead of a PC, I think you will need to select firewire under settings. You will have to have the needed drivers and software for your camera loaded before you try it.
p style="line-height: 2em;"
p style="line-height: 2em;"The way to tell who has cam or audio on is by looking for the green A or V next to their name in list of who is in room. Once you turn your audio or video on, you can tell who is viewing or listening by looking for a blue A or V next to their name in the me column. To view a person's cam or listen to their audio, click on their name in list of who is in room. There is aso a button to view their profile or block that person. If you want to view or listen to more than one person, click the dock button next to their pic under the room list. Then you can click on the other person you wish to view. The block button will prevent that person from viewing your cam and you won't see what they type in room.
p style="line-height: 2em;"
p style="line-height: 2em;"There is no private chat as such, but once you are certified you can send a message to just one person by sending "username your message " I had to enclose in quotes to make message apear correctly. Do not use the quotes in chat room or everyone will see what you sent.
p style="line-height: 2em;"
p style="line-height: 2em;"The chat is for normal discussion, sexual activity is not allowed. If someone comes in and is acting inappropriatly on cam, flag the person. To flad, go to their profile and click the flag button. You will then be asked for reason for the flag. There is also a report abuse button on the chat page that I heard will record what the person says and does on cam. I have not had reson to flag anyone since the button was added so cannot give details of what happens when you do.
p style="line-height: 2em;"
p style="line-height: 2em;"Many people find it hard to keep up with the chat when everyone is typing in the default black. Just to the left of where you type your messages is a style button. It allows you to make your type bold, underlined, or change color. If you want to add a smiley to something you said, the button for them is to right of space you type. Whatever you type in room will have your name in green instead of black next to it to make it easier to see what you typed if someone else is using same color as you.

RE: Chat room information

I would like to add what Jen of Cuddlebutton posted in the forum in response to my post there. It is also very good information.

Thomas

It is rude to repeatedly ask someone who is on cam why they are wearing clothes or to insist that they remove their clothes. There are many reasons why someone may be dressed in the chat room. (i.e, they're at work, they're cold, etc.)

It is inappropriate to ask someone to stand up so that you can see all of them.

If you're viewing someone's cam for any reallength of time, it's only polite to, at the very least, say hi. I know I've personally blocked people from viewing my cam because they will not initiate in any conversation. It's rude at the least and, frankly, downright creepy. It's equivalent to being at a resort and staring at someone. That behaviour is not tolerated at most nudist venues and few will tolerate it here.

If you're new to the TN chat room, don't be afraid to say hi. We're a friendly bunch for the most part. Let us know that your new and we'll do our best to include you in/draw you in to the conversation.

RE: Chat room information

From another post that Jen (Cuddlebutton) made on the forum.

Not sure if everyone even understands how the block feature works. For those of you who don't, let me explain. While in chat, if you click on someones name, a thumbnail of their picture appears. Under their name are three words:
The first one is profile. If you click on that a new window should appear showing their profile page. This gives you an opportunity to read a little more about the person you are talking to or who is viewing your cam. Because it brings you directly to their profile page, it also gives you the opportunity to flag them, quietly.

The second one is block. If you click on this button it does two things. First it blocks them from viewing your cam. Second it blocks their words from appearing on your screen. When I have had people viewing my cam who refuse to have conversation or have said inappropriate things to me, I block them. Or when someones conversation is so unpleasant that I don't want to read it, I block them.

The third one is Dock. This will dock their cam on the bottom of your screen. There is only one docking space. I enjoy it becuase I find that it lends so much more to the converstion when I can see someone's facial expressions. LOL, LMAO, hehehe's and hahaha's are fine but it means so much more when you can see someone really enjoying a good belly laugh at something you or someone else has said. Smiles and laughter are so contagious. I love it. LOL, I've had people comment to me in chat that I'm always smiling. That's usually becuase I'm viewing cams of others who are smiling and laughing.

Also, there is a "report abuse" button at the top of the chat room. (I don't think it works if you are on a Mac). This button sends a video clip to site admin of the abusers cam. That way there is NO questions as to whether or not they were doing something inappropriate on cam.

If there is abusive conversation going on, you can right click the chatroom screen which allows you to copy and paste the conversation into a message that you can then send to site admin when you flag them. This avoids the he said/she said syndrome.

RE: Chat room information

Quick question...I've not been into chat much, but I'd like to kind of ease into it. On that line, I notice that on my profile page, it occasionally will show a friend to be online and in the chat room. Thinking it would be a good way to meet them, I go to chat, but they are nowhere to be found, in either room. Is that just a glitch? Are there more than just the two rooms and the others not visible? Just curious. I think that has happened with every one that I've tried to follow up with.
Thanks,
Gator1

And I've Just had a thought too.
As my comp won't let me use the chat, could some one else please check and confirm, that the advise here, is still relevant to the NEW chat room, and if necessary, add amendments.

Thanks.

That notification is not always accurate. Many times I've gone to chat
when I've seen that notification only to find that person had been
there earlier but was now gone. It's a glitch that I think happens if
some one leaves chat but forgets to "log out" of chat.

There are a few differences, added features, etc. For example the "report abuse" button no longer exists. You can now send people PM's (Private messages - a really annoying feature for some). Thumbnails of profile picture no longer show next to a person's name. Haven't had much time lately to go into chat but will see what I can do to update some of what I'd written so that it's pertinent and relevant to the new chat room.
