SW Florida
It has become very difficult to find any beach in southwest FL where one can safely be nude. In the past, I have been nude on Cayo Costa, Vanderbilt, Barefoot Beach and Keeywadin Island but no more. Haulover Beach is a great place to go but it is a long drive. Fortunately, I now belong to a local club so I can enjoy nudity at the pool. It's not the beach but it's still good.
We (my wife and I) have been to Keeywadin Island on the gulf side about midway several times. Never had any problems. Not many people on the island now. There is another beach near Lovers Key that I heard about but have not checked it out yet. The water may not be deep enough for me to get my 24' boat in there. I draft 18". Have any thoughts?
I've been to Fort DeSoto south of St. Pete, and if you walk north from the main beach there is an area to be naked but I'm told you have to be on the watch for sheriff's deputies patrolling. I don't live in Florida, so unsure if that has changed. RE: southern California, I used to always enjoy San Onofre, but I've heard it is one of those places that has fallen to public pressure.
