CNC update for June
Yesterday, I got home from the CNC event at Avalon. Avalon is without electricity for several days, because of the massive power outage from Ohio to the Washington, DC. Friday evening CNC had our opening session in the cabin rented by Clothesbegone and his wife, with introductions and challenging Christian dialog. Immediately after the opening session, we headed to the indoor pool and hot tub. While 4 of us were in the hot tub, the storm arrived and the power went out. We heeded the advice to be in a center area away from windows, which means the center hall of the lodge, illuminated by flashlights. Saturday, no power, but we still had our CNC sessions with some deeply spiritual dialog. The breeze made it bearable without air conditioning. Because Avalon has gas, meals still could be served Saturday. We also took advantage of the outdoor pools Saturday. Avalon reached a critical point Sunday morning, with concern that they would eventually run out of running water. Sunday breakfast was the last meal served by Avalon. Avalon will need to throw out thousands of dollars worth of food. Both the outdoor and indoor pools were closed Sunday, for sanitation reasons. Avalon checked with the power utility and was told that it would be at least Wednesday before power would be restored. Sunday morning, CNC had worship service, with Clothesbegone preaching an inspirational message. Sunday noon, we had a bountiful lunch that was leftovers from the campers. Although I was registered until Monday, I checked out one day early Sunday noon.
