My resort The Terra Cotta Inn in Palm Springs, CAis participating. You can get more information about contacting us here: https://terracottainn.blogspot.com/2009/07/terra-cotta-inn-going-for-guinness.html From what I understand from Tom who set it up with AANR, Guinness World Records has done a number of stipulations as their reputation for accuracy is very important. Thus, it is only had at resorts, clubs and LEGAL nude beaches. Resort and club management had to agree to AANR and Guinness's terms. Approved locations are located here: https://aanr.com/skinny-dip.html My guess whoever you talked to in Austin, TX was not aware if their club had signed up. AANR deserves tons of credit for promoting nudism. They do so much in legislative law reviews in protecting our nudist rights. They are also very positive in promoting nude recreation. ALL nudists should belong. MC https://sunnyfun.com
The place I am going to is a legal nude beach, Hippie Hollow is the only officially nude beach in Texas. I also went to the aanr page you mentioned, that is where I contacted them from as well as finding the list of participating clubs. I emailed the webmaster of the Bare Necessities travel agency since they were listed on there and he is the one who said he didn't know anything about it. I never even got a response from the non landed club listed.
I feel that if they were looking to really have a good record to set, they would have included Hippie Hollow and had ACTIVLY sought to have it included. On an average summer weekend, there are hundreds of people there, far more than any resort could accomidate at one time.
There were 104 participants at Hippie Hollow on Lake Travis. There were approximately that many more who did not participat there because they were not comfortable signing the required release. I spoke to some people who were members of a non landed group and the group was pushing them to all go to a resort nearby. Their comments reaffirmed what I had posted in another thread, most young people prefer a beach to a resort, partialy due to the cost. As an added benifit, I mentioned being a member here and what it was like and they say they will be joining.

Whispering Pines Resort in NC had well over 200 participants in a very well run event. Four TV crews were on hand ,reporting. Of course everyone had the option of not having there face on camera but I don't think a single person turned away.

Green Valley had 212 in the pool, none in the hot tub, and a few who shoed up late.
This in spite of about 2 inches of rain just a very few hours before.
( heard the 212 number a few times, but I have no "official" knowledge )
Local media had been invited, but none showed.
