I wonder- is a St Patrick's Day Parade seen as rubbing everyone's nose in being Irish?
The difference is public perception. Not everyone is accepting of public nudity. And, as has been mentioned, a nude parade could very well attract those with a different agenda... an agenda that could set nudism back, rather than moving it forward.
Best to work quietly to advance nudism, than be "in your face".
My .05 worth
If the city you lived in or lived near, granted organizers a permit for a Nude Pride Parade, would you attend or participate?
Not very likely. I'm a nudist not an exhibitionist. What would be the purpose of such an endeavor? If it was to promote new, nudist friendly laws, then I might participate. I have pride in who I am but I don't need to flaunt it to enhance my feeling of well being.
The phrase, "Pride Parade", evokes images of sordid displays of contempt for public decency, decorum and respect. IAC, as others have pointed out, shock value is counterproductive to public understanding. Nudists are already almost universally dismissed or detested as loathsome, exhibitionistic perverts. This sort of event would only affirm that misconception. Count me out.
Really NudeinMA? Too bad you detest yourself so much. The World Naked Bike Rides, Bare to Breakers, and Seattle Soltice festivals go off OK without many people thinking about all the negatives you are spewing.

Every notice that there are twits who pollute every thread with personal attacks? I am pleased to be the focus of their hatred, because it distracts them from spewing their bile against others.

Under which of those definitions is being a nudist a source of pride?
I would pick 1 b
Did you really believe that the civil rights movement and rubbing people's noses in "blackness" would engender good will? No, it would only have encouraged more negative feelings in white people.
Are you seriously saying our rights to nudism anywhere near equate to racism?
I wonder- is a St Patrick's Day Parade seen as rubbing everyone's nose in being Irish? What is it with you guys and nose-rubbing?? What did the Eskimos ever do to you?As to NudeinMa- well we wondered how long before he did his Pride thing again...The best idea would be to organise the event in Europe- far less eyelids would be batted here for sure!
On St Patrick's day at the parades what are they parading for? I always thought it was a celebration fundraising event - I enjoy the drinking too.

As I understand the World Naked Bike Rides are to bring peoples attention to 'energy abuse' and uses nudity to bring this to people attention. The Seattle Solstice is an arts festival to raise money and attention for the town, why nudism is involved I suspect could be to assist the fundraising?
Only the Bare to Breakers run is solely to bring attention to nudism?
