How open are you about you nudism?

I ask this because I generally don't talk about it unless someone asks a direct question, and then I'm usually disappointed by the reaction.
Two examples. Recently a work colleague visited with his girlfriend. We took them for a meal and then to a textile beach, I just respect that not everyone is OK with nudity. Anyway, my wife mentioned that it is unusual for me to visit that particular beach because I usually go to Balmins which was nudist. My colleague later in the afternoon, quietly said to me "I didn't know were like that, but don't worry I won't tell anyone".
The second, I bumped into some expat pals in a bar. I said I was just in to quench my thirst, on my way home from the beach. When they asked what beach, and I said Balmins, a deathly silence brake out. Then all the usual crap, "Well we now know Marko has a huge cock" etc. I tried explaining that I have always chosen nude beaches because I prefer it, but to no avail.
So do you discuss it generally? Is it something you discuss at work?

Curiosity always works best.
I don't volunteer the information, but neither do I hide it, and usually treat it like it's always been fairly well known, but so unimportant that they probably just forgot.
In other words, DON'T get defensive ! Treated it like YOU are the one that is the "privileged few" but you might be persuaded to get them an "in" if they ask nice.
Then end it with something like "As always, if you'd like to go, just let me know."

Personally, I don't care who knows, but I don't flaunt it either. I go to a resort, generally on Saturdays. I carry a small duffle bag with my towels, tanning lotion, a book, and a brush. My next door neighbor asked me where I went every Saturday. I told her White Tail Resort. She said she had never heard of it, and I told her it was a nudist resort. She just said "oh" and dropped it. I don't think she thought anything untoward occurs, because she knows I was separated for 6 years before my divorce, and she knows I've been divorced for a year now. She also knows I'm not into the dating scene so much. I don't have men over, nor do I go out a lot. *shrug*
The woman at my tanning salon seemed to think "nudist resort" was a euphemism for "swinger/sex hang out". I set her straight on that.
Some people will have misconceptions about nudism, and sometimes you can be lucky enough to be able to disabuse them of that notion.

That is how rumors and misconceptions start. It is up to us as nudists to "set them straight" Give them the correct information. Who knows, maybe they are home nudists and thought bad things happened at resorts and so never made the effort to go.

I had some coffee mugs made up with a fictional nudist resort in Arkansas. Gave some away and use one at work. No one at work will comment on the mug, but I am sure it makes the HR dept. nervous.
Sometimes when I get off work early due to lack of clients, I say 'Great! I'm off to the nudie beach.' Never any comments then, either.

The more nudists who are open about it, the more acceptable it will become. How can we ever expect nudism to be accepted as a natural and healthy way of life, if it isalways locked away from people.
I have never tried to hide my nudism from anyone, quite the opposite in fact, I go out of my way to bring up the subject, and have never had any problems with people knowing.

I work for a large US IT company, and whilst theoretically what I do in my spare time is none of their business, I have visited clients who have insisted on me taking a drug test before being allowed on site (fortunately my illicit substance days are a long time in the past).

Besides wearing "nudist" slogan or "nudist" club/resort shirts, our home has many references to nudism, art, refrigerator magnets, magazines and knick knacks. Occasionally someone will ask a question about a t shirt I'm wearing. I've answered questions and given directions to our nude beach to a few young females at Starbucks. Just the other day, the lady at the PO asked me about my Surf Naked t shirt. She said ... "cute t shirt! Do you surf?"I said ... "yes!"(a little white lie is okay). She then asked ... "like that!?" I said ... "yup! and live that way too!" She said ... "how fun!" We'll see if she's as eager to talk to me when I go into the PO again! LOL But ... I am very open about our nudist lifestyle and eagerly answer questions and give out information and advise. ;)

Every one who knows me knows I'm a nudist. I talk about the benefits frequently and try to convert anyone I meet to nudism. I am constantly posting online ads for nudist friends to meet in person and am always open with my identity to whomever responds. Some of my friends are cool with me remaining nude when they visit or even allow me to be nude when at their house.
I have many Likes on FaceBook of nudist related pages and my current profile picture is a nude cartoon character with the caption "Life is short Be a nudist" that I downloaded from an AANR post.
