Messages within Friend Requests
I had made a thread asking this a minute ago then deleted it because I thought I had found my answer but now realize I hadn't fully.
When someone sends a message with a request to add a friend, is there any way to view that message? I immediately clicked the Accept button thinking I will respond to the message on the next step. Now, I can't find some of these messages. I think I found one in my Messages folder but only one, and there are several that I can't find.I'm new to this site and computers in general so I'm a bit ignorant - but, very fast learner. Can someone help me figure out how to find these messages because I'd very much like to reply to my new friends.
Thank you.
I think that message is limited to what is visible when you see the friend request, meaning there is a limit to the number of characters that can be typed into the friend request message box. There would be a "view" button (like there is for messages), otherwise.
If a prospective friend sends you a private message in the ordinary way, then it will appear, and remain, among your messages. But if they use the little message box that's tied directly to the friend request, then the message vanishes once you have accepted or denied the request - so, as far as I know, if you want to respond to it, you'll need to note it before accepting the friend.

For the most part, you can't.
Once the request is disposed of, so is the message attached to it.
I really prefer to have a message attached to any request for friendship. Although I have many friends here, I feel I have "something" in common with them on some level. Blank requests tell me nothing of who is requesting friendship and why. If "I" do the requesting, I tell that person why I'd like to be friends and it's usually because we do have something in common. ; )

I feel the same way.I would always read the message attached but not necessarily commit to memory who said what. That's why I was trying to go back to answer questions and realized I could not find the messages.
