RE: Kilt Outings?

I will be wearing my kilt to go to the local renaissance festival. The last time I wore it was for my wife's Celebration of Life service back in September. She loved me in my kilt so I will wear it in her memory at the festival.

RE: Kilt Outings?

you may not know this but I'm a broke ass college student, and money is hard to come by. so here is a good question for everyone. How much was your kilt?Go to one of the shops/stores who do kilt hires- they are often selling off old stock and, as long as you don't care what tartan you get, you can sometimes get a really good bargain. I bought one of mine that way and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and have been wearing it for the last 7 years. Good luck with your hunt

For a long time I didn't have a kilt because I thought I needed to be in a Scottish clan. Then I met an American kilt enthusiast who told me how wrong I was. I just Goggled kilts and discovered a whole range of non-clan tartans for sale to Sassenachs and other nationalities. ( You have to hand it to Scottish enterprise). So I bought one - not too expensive from Amazon.
My first wearing was a great success. I enjoyed the freedom for my bits to hang lose. And most of the women asked the usual question. I know the etiquette and never wear underwear.

you can find them online, anywhere from say $89 on up. The custom made ones are going to be more expensive of course.
