playalinda or Apollo (new smyrna)
Hi all, We are visiting Cypress cove resort in Florida again in about 4 weeks time and would like to visit a clothing optional beach. We would like a busy everyday kind beach that is nude but has plenty of normal beach things (toilets, food and drink place etc) close by. We would prefer not to be on a deserted piece of beach stuck out the way as if we are doing something wrong. we are not looking to travel that far so have decided on either Playalindia or Apollo (new smyrna) and we would like some advice on which one would best suit us. We also would like to avoid being arrested lol. Any advice is welcome, even other nearby beaches that may be better.ThanksD & M
I would suggest Playalinda. You can usually get a parking place up until 11:00 pretty easily. I have been attending almost daily on warm days. Have to deal with a lot of fisherman earlier in the day but everyone gets along well. Good mix of age and people. Ranger drive by periodically but won't hesitate to stop and have a friendly chat or answer questions.
The only beach I know that matches what you are looking for is Haulover in South Florida, I have been to Apollo in May and I was one of about 10 people for about a mile, lucky I had some friends join me out there....
Since we originally posted the message we have been looking at the possibility of driving down to haulover, it does seem to match everything we are looking for and looks fantastic but it will be about a 4 hour drive. We will probably make a decision when we are over there, if Haulover just seems to big of a journey then we may try both playalindia and apollo.

Thanks for the beach info too, do you come to SW Florida often? Another good place to check out is Caliente, personally I think it's better than Cypress Cove.
We are back home from our holiday in Florida now and in the end we chose to make the 4 hour trip to haulover, so glad we did. We ended up staying in miami for 2 nights and spending 3 fantastic days on Haulover beach. If anyone is thinking about going to this beach or has a chance to visit it, then do it. This beach feels so natural and is so busy, no more hiding away stuck at the end of some beach where people dont get offended. Just like an everyday beach but without the wet bathing suit. Both myself and my wife cant recommend Haulover enough, its fantastic and we will return again in the future.
