For my backyard, I have 8' fence all around but my surrounding neighbors can look into my yard from their 2nd floor windows. Last summer, my first year at the house, I used to think it was really too bad as I have a big inground pool and wish I can swim and sun bath in the nude. The only thing I found effective was to use tilt-able umbrella (may need more than one) to create a private area for sun bathing. However, sometime, when I was more daring than usually, I would leave that "shielded" area and ventured to visible areas of the yard including the pool...and just went for a skinny dip. My mentality was: I am in my own yard, nudism is not illegal, and chances are, no one is looking anyway...and even if my neighbors had seen me swimming or walking in my yard naked, they probably either ignored me or enjoy watched me. As long as I am not doing anything I am not suppose to, I was in the clear. So no one complained to me last summer for the few times I was exposed.
In the last few weeks, I find myself nude in my yard without those umbrellas. I go about and just minding my own business and enjoying my freedom. Unless a neighbor raises the issue, I just tell myself no one is watching and stop thinking about it.
I think in most cases, we create the issue in our head and restrict ourselves and behave as if we are in the wrong. I say think differently: enjoy yourself in your own space...chances are...no one will ever bother you. If someone say something, deal with the issue then.
has anyone here ever asked a neighbor about being able to go nude in there yard , my neighbor are nice and i know they have seen me a time or two but i allways wanted to ask but i never know how to bring it up to them
No, my neighbors whose property is higher than mine asked their neighbor to chat to us about walking around naked in our home. :/That annoyed me. It was 15 years ago and sort of quashed ideas I had about nudism at the time.
I'm needing the barrier for the same neighbor. They've seen it all before but don't appreciate it. Funnily enough I know the husband sits in just a singlet at home and throws on shorts when there's a knock at the door.
I would love to be able wander around in my backyard nude.But the neighbors behind us are above us.Probably will not spend the money for a tall,wooden privacy fence.The first step will be to put darker screening in our screened in back porch.The next step will be to landscape the backyard some,and fence me off a small area for nude sunbathing.If the opportunity presents itself I would like to have a screened in area off the back porch with a hot tub.It never hurts to dream.
We've owned three homes. Each and every home was a nudist home, inside and backyard. We've been caught/seen by our neighbors in all three backyards. There were times when we were able to talk to neighbors about it and they just laughed it off and said they didn't care," it was your backyard do whatever you want," some didn't want to talk about it and were embarrassed because they were being nosey and saw us. Our current situation is this; we had neighbors, initially, that were very accepting and saw us, waved from the upstairs windows and then closed the blinds to give us privacy. I had conversations with "him" over the fence while I was naked. Not an issue, no problems. This couple moved away and the new neighbors are less "friendly" but still "neighborly." They have no doubt seen us and they did close the blinds a few times but now have opened them up and seem to have accepted the fact that we are naked in our backyard. They are cordial and wave and smile but they are not "friendly" toward us. We've done all we can with landscaping, blocks walls and fences.
We planted emerald green arborvitae trees as a privacy screen, but of course they are only 6 feet tall right now. Come on little trees - ggrrowwwww!!!
If you want them to gain height faster, then keep the lower limbs trimmed off at the trunk. This forces the tree to put it's growing energy to going up, not out at the bottom. It only has so much growing potential per year and you don't want it wasting that growing on the bottom limbs, so cut them off and it will start putting on new growth towards the upper area.
I was worried when my new neighbors moved in also. But one day i caught the neighbor peeking thru the fence. She saw that i saw her she quickly stopped and within 5 min a knock at my door. I was like ahhhh damn her it goes. It was her and she said. You look real good walking around naked in your backyard. I was shocked then she said i hate tan lines too can i join you? I must have done something nice or something because she comes over and gets naked with me almost everytime i'm out there. I guess i'm just real lucky
Has anyone but me actually knocked on the neighbors door and actually talked to their neighbors before building walls and planting trees and bushes and/or getting arrested?
Please read previous quotes. Yes we have talked to them to no avail. I believe that they actually enjoy knowing that we are dissatisfied.
