RE: First tips

A nudist always has his towel with him. Sunscreen, sunglassesand a bottle of water (or something to drink) are good if you are going somewhere hot. If it's in the UK a windbreak may be a good idea. Basically take all the things you would take to a normal beach, but without the shorts/swimsuit. You won't have any pockets so a bag is useful. I do take my camera to the beach but only to take photos of myself. There is a convention that we respect the privacy of other nudists by not taking photos of them - unless they give permission (but don't be pushy).
When you get to the beach put down your towel and strip off immediately. Nudists are generally good natured but they may get suspicious of someone who isn't naked -you could be a textile voyeur! You can look at the other nudists and even watch them for a while but don't stare. Spendmost of yourtime just sunbathing, reading, swimming etc. just as you would on anyother beach. Don't be coy or shy. Let others see you, just as you can see them. You will find nudists come in all shapes, sizes and ages. Some are shaved, some are hairy. They are like textiles without tan lines. Having seen your profile I think you will fit in perfectly. You may find some voyeur textiles walking up and down the beach. A nudist has nothing to hide so ignore them or let them see what they want to see. (I actually take it as a compliment if someone stares at me, I might just give them a full eye-full)
Erections happen, especially when stripping in "public" for the first time. Most nudists accept them as natural as long as you don't flaunt it or play with it. Sit up or lie on your front to hide it till it goes down.
Above all enjoy. Enjoythe sun and breeze on your naked skin and being in like-minded company.

Most importantly, don't make a bigger deal out of this than it is. If you're visiting a nude beach, most people there will have been before, and they will assume you have been, too. Relax. Walk in. Undress. Don't play shy and take forever, just pull the clothes off and put them in your pack. If you need sunscreen, put it on, and get the privates, too - you don't want to burn anything down there, and nobody will give that a second thought, either.
I like to walk. I take a small backpack with me. I dress lightly when I go to the beach in a pair of thin shorts, a tee shirt, and sandals. The clothes weigh nothing in my pack and take up no room. I take a bottle of water. Sunscreen. I keep my wallet, keys, and smartphone in my pack. A towel. A lightweight hat. Sometimes a frisbee. That's about it. When I want to walk, I grab my pack and follow the waterline. I watch people. I talk to some of them if they look friendly. Sometimes I'll ask someone to take my picture. I find nudists very friendly.
When I'm ready to sit down, I'll spread the towel and sit with drinking water near at hand. A lot of times I'll lay back and almost nap. I always watch people.
Feel the wind on your skin. Feel the sun on your skin. The little hairs will respond to the breeze, and you'll feel it naked in a way you've never felt it before. It's an amazing feeling. Enjoy it.
I've seen a lot of things on the internet about what to do and not do at the nude beach. I think most of those writings are by people who have never been. Nudity is natural - it's not a big deal. Enjoy it. Be yourself. Whatever your body type, it just doesn't matter.

RE: First tips

Yes many go for a stroll along the water's edge. It's a way of seeing other nudists and letting them see you. But leave all your stuff behind with your towel. Just walk naked carrying nothing. Most/all nudists do this - there is a mutual trust.

Don't be afraid to mention to people around you that it is your first time. They might well take you under your wing and support you. Also, it will cover any gaffes you might make during your stay! Most importantly of all, ENJOY!
