It is not the person or party in your White House who wants to shred the Constitution - it is the 'people' who are complacent.
The present occupant of the White House is bending laws to fit his agenda, enforcing some laws while ignoring others andpushing legislation that is clearly un-constitutional. Yes there are people who are cheering him on led by a media that refuses to report anything that reflects negatively upon this individual. People who do speak up are punished by this government for doing so. If this stands, it will surely undermine the effectiveness of the Constitution thereby rendering it null and void.
....... proponents and gun nuts don't seem to care much about the 4th Amendment. Are you happy to have the NSA recording everything you do, say, write etc?
What? You seem to be somewhere between a moron and an idiot. Please explain. The 2nd and 4th amendments are in harmony..
Leaving the gratuitous insult aside, do you have a cogent point?
As I said, those who proclaim their 2nd amendment rights, appear not to have too much problem with their 4th amendment rights being trampled.
I don't know how much clearer one could be. Yet it confused you.
Post #1All those 2nd Amendment............ proponents and gun nuts don't seem to care much about the 4th Amendment.
Post #13Hmmm, not a single post on topic. Says a lot about the posters here.
Actually, it says a lot about the wisdom of our members who refuse to be baited by a crashingly boring Marxist ideologue.
You insult gun owners in your OP and then whine because they don't deem you worthy of a response. Boy, I'd infinitely rather trust my life to an American gun owner than to a thousand craven leftists.
Pure ad hominem.
Obama is just the figurehead of a cultural problem.
A global problem. We're all being constantly surveilled and all our governments are complicit.
So what is it all for?
Certainly not security. You are an interesting guy. For once I agree with you on this quote. But regarding your first post, what gives you the idea that American gun owners (Or gun owners anywhere) would not care that the NSA is spying on all of us? I'll agree that there isn't enough outrage over this which everyone should be speaking loudly about, but in my world, the 2nd Amendment proponents are the loudest voices against this.
I support the Second Amendment as well as the other nine of the first ten amendments which were written to prevent a tyrannical government from seizing too much power for itself and ignoring the unalianable rights which are granted to us through natural law.
Many people, including gun owners do not understand the purpose of the Second Amendment as written nor implied: The Second Amendment was written expressly for the protection of the people as well as their right to dispense with a government should it become a tyrant. This does not mean anarchy. It means that an armed citizenry are the best defense against tyranny and in defense of liberty and freedom. Many times Jefferson stated this in his writings and letters to friends and associates. Madison as well as Hamilton also made note of the same reasons.
" God forbid we should be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty....and what country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms. The remedy to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is natural manure."
Thomas Jefferson.
No nation can disarm its people and remain free. Liberty will vanish like a puff of smoke in the wind should Americans be forced to give up their arms.
No nation can disarm its people and remain free. Liberty will vanish like a puff of smoke in the wind
Australia did disarm the majority of there citizens many years ago and we are still a free and safer Nation.
But then again our government isn't hated by so many as is the USA
It would be a sad indictment on any nation that its people needed to be armed to protect themselves from their Government, the democratically elected government!
"No nation can disarm its people and remain free." - There are many countries where the people remain free and have no need of weaponry to do so.
