how many of friends are nudist?
For a number of years I'd been frequenting a couple of local nude beaches and was a member of Glen Eden which I visited regularly When I decide to try De Anza for a change, well low and behold I ran into some friends (a married couple)I knew from a bar/dance hall and church a number of years ago but lost contact with maybe 10 or 12 years ago. Turned out that not only that they're nudists too BUT they now live at De Anza!So it was kinda funny that here we are friends but never talked about being nudists and none of us knew. After all it's not something you bring up in casual conversation!... how do you do that? oh hey nice dress btw I'm a nudist or hey how about those Steelers oh did I mention I'm a nudist... LOLThe next question is how many of other friends are nudist and we don't know it?
Ran into an ex coworker from my department a few years ago. We even saw a woman that was on PTA with my wife. The ex coworker came over and we talked for some time and caught up. The PTA woman ... she avoided us! We always look for friends and acquaintances from the outside every time we visit a nude venue. We, like many nudists, have two separate circles of friends; nudist friends and non nudist friends. They ALL know about one another but the non nudist friends never ask about the nudist friends. I just think that the non nudist friends think "it" doesn't exist if they don't talk about it! hahahaha
One friend when came to know that am nudist, shared he too enjoyed being nude in room whenever alone. and wanted to join an outdoor trip with me.
Another school buddy who is now at US, said that he wants to explore naturism with me.
I personally have yet to run into someone i knew in the textile world at a resort or a nude rec area, but I have a funny story to share. One girl I played volleyball with at Glen Eden had started going there on her own when she was in her early 20's, and had been going for a few months, when one day, she walked into the cafeteria and ran into her mother and step-father!!! She never knew they had been members there for years, and they did not know she had an interest in nude recreation. It is quite an awesome story to hear her tell it. LOL.

Went to a nudist resort one weekend. Sat down by the pool and enjoying the sun. Looked up to see one of our neighbors walk into the pool area. Figured we might as well go talk to them. After all, we wereall there naked. We have become great friends since then.
I ran into a ski buddy at our local nude beach, much to my surprise and his. Also had the reverse happen. I have a friend that I know from a clothing optional resort. Ran into him at the opera and couldn't recall where I knew him from.

"how many of other friends are nudist and we don't know it?" - is a very good question and most of us will probably never know the real answer.
I've met people I hadn't previously known were also nudists at both beaches and nudist venues. Its great to expand your circle of nudist friends like that. As said above most of us don't tend to slip 'oh by the way I'm a nudist' into everyday conversation, if you're talking about holiday beaches which you know are nudist ones its different. I don't hide the fact that I'm a nudist and don't care who knows, not everyone is or can be open nudists, but it would be great though for everyone to feel able to be upfront about nudism, I'm sure we'd find we knew more like-minded people. I have a circle of nudist friends, but it would be good to include other people I know who we haven't realised also enjoy nudity.
Everyone around me knows and accepts I'm a nudist. But I have two distinctgroups of friends. One set is nudists. The other set is textile. While a few of my textile friends have shown an interest in nudity none have admitted to being nudists. So the two groups do not overlap.
