Club Orient 2014
We're in the process of planning a week at Club Orient in early 2014: January or February. Is anyone thinking of the same thing? Yes, it's a little more pricey, but we can't wait! We'll delay for a month or 6 weeks if anyone can give us a good reason. Please respond.
Our hope is to return to our routine of visiting SXM annually but that may not happen anymore. SO ... we are now planning on visiting every other year but ... we always go in June, that's when the bulk of our SXM friends go. If and when you go ... have a wonderful time and have a drink from Willie at the Perch for us! She's the best bartender, and a really nice person! :D
It truly depends on who you talk to. There are "weather" concerns during some months of the year, other months ... everything on the island is expensive because it's "peak season," other times you'll find that visitors will state concerns with bugs ... We go in June, only because we are tied to the calendar, currently. Not sure if we'd go during "hurricane season", "peak season" butone never knows. We happen to have met people we are close friends with and we ALL go in June. It's warm, sometimes humid and some of the restaurants and stores, around the island, are closed. Jan-Mar seems to be the "peak season" and everything's open but ... everything is a bit more expensive then because there are lots more people. So ... hopefully, more frequent visitors will chime in about when they go to SXM and why and you can make your decision based on their experiences as well. : )
We like Dec because prices are still lower, but it's usually cold at home.
We will have to try December some time! We went in April last year and since friends from our nude swim socials were going in June, we tried that this year. In April we thought the water was a little cold and would be warmer in the summer. There was no difference in June. It was a little cheaper in June than even December, but we will go in April again next year to meet up with friends we made at Club O last year (and saw again on the Bare Necessities "Big Nude Boat" cruise).
