When were you cut and why? And what are your thoughts on it.
I was cut at birth like most guys born in the mid 50s. I didn't know what foreskin was until i traveled to Europe in 1985!! I don't even remember seeing a photo of an uncut penis.
I read threads here and on LPSG where lots of guys cut at birth complain of not having the choice and wanting to restore etc. I'm curious if everyone here can tell a little bit about (1) their age, (2) when were they circumcised and (3) if you were cut later, why? Medical reasons, religious reasons or just because you liked the look. (4) What are your thoughts on it now?
If you had sons, would you have them circumcised at birth or wait until later when you could discuss it with them and let them decide?
There's great site for cut men (and their admirers) cuttingclub.de You might want to check it out if you're interested.
I am 47, was cut at birth, not by choice. I would NEVER have had it done! If I had sons, I would not have them cut either. I feel I should have had 100% control on the issue and would leave that up to my sons. I also consider it a type of body mutilation. I was born with a long foreskin, and the scar I have is rather dark and far back on my shaft. My mutilator (doctor) was an over achiever! Foreskin is natural and if taken care of is not an issue (most of the time).

You sound like an "intactivist". While I might agree that it was not MY choice, I think that my parents were doing, what they thought at the time, was best for me. I hold no grudge for that decision. I've read that one guy sued his parents for it. Come on, really? There's something else going on there that runs much deeper than being circumcised at birth. Moreover, in the 50s and 60s I think the doctors also thought that it was best. I mean, it was so wide spread in the US, how can it be said or thought that they were doing anything subversive?
Personally, I'm happy being cut. I don't think that it has affected any part of my life including my sex life. When I ejaculate I actually quiver from the sensation and can't be touched along the ridge of my glans until the sensitivity settles down.
I can't comment on what it might be like being uncut but I've heard from several friends who elected to be cut later in life (and not for medical reasons either) that they are extremely happy with the results and find it to be much more erotic being cut.
I'm 44 and, like MaleNudist1966, was cut as a baby. I wish the decision of whether or not to be circumcised had been left up to me. Assuming I had no problem/medical reason necessitating that it to be done, I'd have left myself intact. I'm just not thrilled that a permanent change was made to my body that wasn't my choice. I feel it should be left to the guy himself once he's old enough to make it.
There was so much misinformation being spread about circumcision in the 1950's and 60's, that it became commonplace in the U.S. I just hope my parents' reason (assuming they were even asked) wasn't for looks or "to look like dad" -- my dad is circumcised too, but I don't ever remember it being a point of bonding that we were both cut.
I was cut at about the age of 28 it was my decision to have it done, out of hygienic reasons and I'm not looking back. Its fine for everyone to work out what is best and practical for them. it is a form of body modification, just as is piercing, where some like it and others don't.
SolomojoHere are a couple of sites for you to look over
https://www.aap.org/en-us/about-the-aap/aap-press-room/pages/Newborn-Male-Circumcision.aspx
https://www.who.int/hiv/topics/malecircumcision/en/
https://www.circinfo.net/
There are many more sites. Research has all found there to be benefits to male circumcision, but it is left to the parents and the individual to make the decision. Just be well informed.
I am circumcised, it was done at birth. My father was not circumcised until he was in his 20's, and he chose to have his sons circumcised.
at birth like all my brothers , very rare for ireland but i think its due to my fathers input being a true texas male and his strong beleifs , glad it was done as a kid though and have chose the same for my boys
