To my Presbyterian Friends
Now, some of my best friends are Presbyterians and I'm sure they want nothing to do with armed robbery. But Presbyterians did support the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. And Sandor McBadguy, saying the devil made him do it, has excused his armed robbery by citing his religious compulsion. It is therefore any Presbyterian's duty to denounce armed robbery.
No takers? Hmm...
But I have certainly not said that Presbyterians are associatied with Armed Robbery. Nor have I repeated that Presbyterians are soft on armed robbery.
I wonder why no Presbyterians are coming forward to denounce armed robbery.
Oh - this:

The repetition of a claim, even in denial, leads people to remember it as true. It's a nice trick - spread or reinforce an association with plausible deniability, and with luck goad your vicitims into helping you. This is an especially powerful technique, of course, when it plays into pre-existing prejudices - and we all know about those Presbyterians, and the slippery slope they've put us on.
Did I mention that Presbyterians have no special tendency to commit armed robbery?
