And thus another NUDE BEACH disappears!
Our sympathies to our friends in the UK and their loss due to the inappropriate few...https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-22949459
So now they will be having wardens patrolling the beach to make sure people have their clothes on. Why couldn't they have used the very same wardens to patrol the area where sex was the problem..and leave the nudies alone.
This is exactly why myself and others on here constantly complain about the line between sex and nudism being forever blurred, even within our own community. One after another, so-called progressives on here call us conservatives old, dinosaurs, out of touch, and other less savory names because we want to keep nudism clean. People who know nothing about nudists or nudism are going to assume it's sexual in nature and look for even the slightest evidence, real or otherwise, that their assumptions are correct. For everyone on here who I've argued with over this FACT, get it through your THICK EFFING HEADS, this is what happens and will continue to happen if we don't divorce ourselves from those who insist on sexualizing nudism.
A young couple had to be told their behaviour was inappropriate and the authorities would shut our beach down. I knew they were inexperienced andignorant of what true nudism is about because the male made fun of my nudeappearance as they walked by me upon arriving at the beach. Guess they decided to give it a go as they soon found out they were the minority as textiles. My point is that most uneducated people truly believe nudism is equated with sex. These two figured they were nude and therefore, despite no evidence to support this, believed that public sex must be OK. I hope when they got home they took some time to research the true meaning and beautiful way of life that is naturism. God bless.
I realize that many of us who attend nude beaches prefer to have a "live and let live" attitude, but that is something we just can no longer afford if we want to keep our nude beaches. In CA, we've lost two nude beaches; San Onofre and Muir beaches. The reason given, which is always the same, is lewd activity on the beach. Did the regular beach goers do anything about it, probably not. If you see lewd behavior on a beach, CONFRONT them. Get a group of the regulars together and let the offenders know that what their doing will not be tolerated. You try to be nice about it, depending on the degree of offense. There are a few to really don't understand that nude is not lewd, and when having the facts explained to them by a few folks, will get it, and behave. Others, sometimes need a bit more attitude to get them off the beach.Word gets around. Those that come to nude beaches looking for sex, usually belong to forums that discuss where to go. If someone gets confronted, they may likely go back to their forum and report that a particular nude beach is NOT sex friendly.Don't just watch and go tsk tsk. BE PROACTIVE.
I never saw any lewd behavior at San Onofre. I heard the same complaints mentioned as anywhere else, the parks dept. wanted to safeguard people from accidentally happening upon nude bathers. Had they put up a few signs they would have prevented people from 'stumbling across' the 60 yards of beach that was the most remote portion available, after driving to the very end of the park, walking down a trail and walking twice the length of the beach twice over to get there in the first place.
@ Lebowski ...
Did you visit San O very often? We did and we saw plenty south of the fence line. Most of the reports of lewd activity actually happened in the Trail 6 parking lot, down at the end, but ... there were always some couples, gay and hetero, that partook in sexual activity down south and when the Marines swept the beach and asked everyone south of the fence line to move north of the fence line, many of them brought that stuff with them.
Most times ... the regulars policed the beach and ran the idiots off. Sometimes ... the regulars called the Rangers for assistance. The Ranger Superintendent used "those" reports and requests for assistance against the nudists as further reason to prohibit nudity on a stretch of beach that has been used nude for over 35 years! People coming to San O have known for long enough that once you hit the #6 Lifeguard Tower ... you'd encounter naked people. People used to walk down that far from way north just to look at us naked people.
I confronted several small groups of young people and got them to admit that they knew of the nude section and wanted to come and see for themselves. So I asked ... "then why make a big deal outta seeing naked people if you KNEW we were on this part of the beach and nude???" Of course ... never got a reasonable answer. They didn't "stumble across" us nudists ... they made a point of coming down that way to look. They knew what was down there.
Lewd activity happened at San O but not to the extent that we had to lose it. If not for the nudists on the beach ... that beach would have been overrun by people down there just to have sex on the beach. Hell ... we went for walks and saw them making pornos down south of the fence line and when we called the Rangers ... they'd say ... we don't have jurisdiction south of the fence line. The Marines didn't care unless they were actually on the beach and running people off for whatever reason.
You mentioned clean nudism. Why is sex unclean? The way most people feel about nudism, the same way you feel about sex. We need to have more tolerance towards intimate activities just the way nudists want others to have more tolerance towards unclothed natural human forms. Sex is natural human behavior too. Many times I'm given the explanation by elder nudists that nature isn't ashamed of its natural forms, so why should we. I say nature isnt ashamed of having sex in the open too.
It figures that the last statement was given by someone who has NO information on their profile and is from a country where nudism is illegal. It is people like him that doesn't understand that nudism is NOT about sex. Yes sex is a natural thing but not out in the public where everyone can be confronted by it. Keep it where it belongs between you and the person you are with,,,not the whole world

Well said, Jerseygirl. People who cannot behave in a responsible manner, should not be allowed into public places.
