RE: Hate

Old vs new God is not an issue for me. These books were written in their times and in their social environments to share and teach the people of that time. It is not perfect so I step back and ask is there a God. Yes. Was Jesus who He said He was. Yes. What does God/Jesus want from us. Two things. Believe and accept Him. Love each other.Everything else is details. We just need to accept each other and get along. None of us are perfect and all of us are loved by God. No matter how someone annoys or hurts us if we let go and just accept that there is diversity in all creation than life is good.Just say'nSo it was Jesus who destroyed the Philippines and killed millions.

I wonder why he would do that. But then he does stuff like that all the time. Wars, Famines, Drought, Mass Murders. He does work in mysterious ways.

Did Old God or New God destroy the Philippines?Yes, the hard truth is whether He chose to destroy it or allowed satan to destroy it, He allowed it... either one is not very comforting is it? I can not comprehend the mind of God. If I could I prolly would not need Him.

I don't believe that Allah teaches hate but how come his followers are so hateful. Maybe I'm the one who is misguided in believing that Allah does not teach hate.

RE: Hate

We know that there are many Muslims who hate Christians and hate Jews. There are many so called "good" Muslims who say they don't hate Christians or Jews but they still follow a religion that teaches it is right and noble to kill Christians and Jews. I would like to know of one "good" Muslim who publicly criticized radical Muslims for acts of violence against Christiansor Jews.
Before you criticize this post, please name that one individual. Please be specific; say who it is, what they said and when and where they said it.

RE: Hate

To condemn Islam because a minority of its followers hate/harm others is not fair. Think back back to the days of "The reformation" when Christianity had an appalling record of mistreatment of both other Christians and non-believers. Even recently there have been troubles between different factions of Christianity. The scriptures of most religions preach essentially a humanist message of tolerance saying "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" leaving no place for hate.
Hate lies with the individuals who misinterpret and mislead. Eventually overtime as history has shown that those who preach and practice hate loose their following though sadly not before a lot of harm has been done. The Taliban have already begun their inevitable slide into history along with Nazis, Soviet Communism, the Klu-Klux Clan, Maoism and numerous other examples of abusive regimes humanity has become ashamed of.
Who among current North Americans (and us Europeans) can fail to feel shame for the way our ancestors treated native peoples in many lands. We have to let the sins of the past go and do our best to be better people in the future. We will get better though never be perfect.
