The Pew Research Center study, shows that 81% of the Muslims in the US condemn violence against civilians in any way and 71% globally.
These figures are very frightening indeed. In the Us it means 19% of 2.6 million which is 494,000 and Worldwide 29 % of 1.6 billion which is 464 million.
In total that is 464,494,000 potentially dangerous fanatics. And again.... There is the fanaticism.. Because one doesn't condemn violence, doesn't mean they are out killing people or supporting it. It isn't all or nothing, black or white.I agree, you are right in saying it isn't all or nothing, so that MUST work both ways: Many of those who say they condemn violence will still turn a blind eye to it or even shield the perpetrators.

Can you actually say many of those who condemn violence will turn a blind eye, without including yourself? It happens around the world everyday. Do you condemn your government for it, did you fight in a war, where a great many innocent civilians died? We are all guilty of "turning a blind eye", but are we bad people? Singling out all Muslims for somes bad behaviour is wrong.

I have spent many years living and working with them, and I have Muslim friends, but only a fool woulddeny they pose the greatest threat to world peace.

We know that there are many Muslims who hate Christians and hate Jews. There are many so called "good" Muslims who say they don't hate Christians or Jews but they still follow a religion that teaches it is right and noble to kill Christians and Jews. I would like to know of one "good" Muslim who publicly criticized radical Muslims for acts of violence against Christiansor Jews. Before you criticize this post, please name that one individual. Please be specific; say who it is, what they said and when and where they said it.
I really would love to show this post to our company's comptroller. She is a Muslim, born in North Africa who ismarried to a man born inEurope to a Jewish/Catholic set of parents. I can't show her the post this week since she and her husband went to Israel on vacation. He felt going toYad Vashem was the proper way to honor his (great?) grandparents who were murdered by Christians during the Holocaust.
It is so incredible that to you only Muslims hate/kill Jews and Christians. Have not Christians been solely responsible for pogroms and the Holocaust? Historically, more Christians have been responsible for killing Jews then Muslims. My intent here is not to cast blame at Christians for the past, but to illustrate how your condemnation of Islam is factually incorrect.
Your world view is sadly lacking. Even if you read our local newspaper, NEWSDAY, you would see that Imans from the mosques in our area have spoken against violence and hatred. They frequently are involved non-demotional prayer and social meetings with local churches, temples, and synagogues to promote greater inter-religious freedom, understanding, and acceptance.
The world be so much more peaceful if it were not for religions spewing hate.
Amen! This is why I do not subscribe to religious dogma but a relationship with my creator and He is all about LOVE! Christians, Muslims, Agnostics, Atheists... whatever your faith of choice... can be hateful... LOVE IS NOT THE EASY THING.
