Spring has sprung!
Usually I don't like winter, and this winter has been unusually cold and snowy so, sadly, my barefooting has been somehow limited. I am totally excited about Spring and I want to push the envelop a lot this season. It is interesting: nothing like a cold winter to make one think "how stupid am I when I do NOT walk barefoot 100% when it's warm enough" LOL
I prefer the wooded trail at the resort. It is smooth for barefooting and sometimes there is some mud that I enjoy walking through.
I fully agree. The feel of warm mud oozing between the toes is a very sensual feeling. I enjoy the trail at our resort as well for being bare footed. When I'm hiking in a public trail I'll always wear shoes though.

One time I was walking the trail after it rained the day before. At one spot my leg sank in half way up to my knee. So I put the other one in as well. I left the mud on for the rest of my walk then washed it off in a stream before I went up to the club house. Wish I had a photo of how I looked!
I'm a year round barefooter, but it's definitely more pleasant in the spring and summer. A group of us are hitting the trail for the first barefoot hike of 2015 this coming Saturday, and I can't wait. Wish I could do the hike nude, but the setting and company aren't appropriate, so I'll stick to my naked soles. :-)
