I am a lot happier I just found a hidden icon on my android tablet which gives me the option to request to use the desktop version of this site. So it looks like every thing is back to normal .
Its not a feature of the site its a feature built into the tablet, just didn't think to look at it until today as the functions available on the icon vary as to what program is running on the viewed window.
For others info the icon I am referring to on my tablet is 3 vertical dots on the upper right hand corner of the window on the tab bar.
Like the rest of the tablet users here I think this so called upgrade is a dismal failure. It may be that there were compelling reasons to change the previous system, and that the degradation for tablet users was unanticipated, but it seems to me that there have been enough complaints about the new system that some action should have been taken, even if that was to only aknowledge the problem.
There are surely issues with using the iPad. I tired on two and both look horrible. THe only real good way is to use a computer.Either that or put an option to display in Web Mode. That is doable as I have used that on several other web pages I use on my iPad.

Only draw back is I have to switch off desktop mode if I want to use chat. But I guess that's a small price to pay.
The chat window just won't open in desktop mode whereas before the up grade it did.
Certain items contain several hundred pages and it is easy to find the first few pages or the last few pages but is there an easy way that someone could go to one of the interim pages? If not, maybe we should suggest that this feature be added.
I agree on the chat room request. The chat space only takes up around half the screen. There is a ton of wasted space around the borders. If have a few private chats and a couple of windows open, the page is pretty much blanketed. Another thing I'd love to see is profiles that have been dormant over a year should be cut loose. I could be mistaken, but doesn't saving all their pictures and info take up valuable server space?
